What is a Chimera?

Once I had heard the story of the woman with the heart transplant I began to research, as I said. I found that there is actually a term for this phenomena. It is called a chimera.
“A genetic chimerism or chimera (also spelled chimera) is a single organism composed of cells from different zygotes. This can result in male and female organs, two blood types, or subtle variations in form. Animal chimeras are produced by the merger of multiple fertilized eggs. In plant chimeras, however, the distinct types of tissue may originate from the same zygote, and the difference is often due to mutation during ordinary cell division. Normally, genetic chimerism is not visible on casual inspection; however, it has been detected in the course of proving parentage.
Another way that chimerism can occur in animals is by organ transplantation, giving one individual tissue that developed from two genomes. For example, a bone marrow transplant can change someone’s blood type.” Source: Chimera (genetics) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article is about genetic chimærism. For the cartilaginous fish, see Chimaera. For the mythological beast, see Chimera (mythology).
“Chimera, in genetics, an organism or tissue that contains at least two different sets of DNA, most often originating from the fusion of as many different zygotes (fertilized eggs). The term is derived from the Chimera of Greek mythology, a fire-breathing monster that was part lion, part goat, and part dragon. Chimeras are distinguished from mosaics, organisms that contain genetically different populations of cells originating from a single zygote, and from hybrids, organisms containing genetically identical populations of cells originating from a cross of two different species. Included among the different known types of animal chimeras are dispermic and twin chimeras, microchimeras, and parthenogenetic and androgenetic chimeras. (For information on the phenomenon in plants, see Chimera.)” Source: Encyclopedia Britannica https://www.britannica.com/topic/chimera-genetics
There is a fascinating article on twins and how they can become a chimera in the womb. From that article, I have pulled this quote:
“It is reasonable to conclude that chimeras literally are two people each having their own spirit, both occupying the space within one body, though genetically occupying different parts of it.”One might assume that this would create a situation in which two streams of thought were battling in one body, and to some extent, this might be actually true.” Source: The Spiritual Truth of Human Chimerism https://timenolonger.wordpress.com/2010/08/11/the-spiritual-truth-of-human-chimerism/
When I was first researching, that was what I found, that a chimera is actually two spirits inhabiting one body. That particular definition has been removed from the internet. But, that is exactly what occurs, and I am sure what they do not want you to know.
Once I learned about this phenomena, I wondered if people would consent to a transplant if they were aware that this was going to happen to them. I ask you if you were terminally ill and were told that your life could be saved, but you would no longer be you, would you be willing to pay that price to prolong your life?
I began to talk to people about this issue. I thought that people should know. It is a funny thing, I almost immediately met a man who had just had a transplant. He said “funny you should mention that I just had a kidney transplant. After my surgery, my wife said that I had become a different person. She said she did not even know me anymore, and she left me”.
Not long after that, I met a man who had just had a bone marrow transplant. He said to me “funny you should mention that to me, I had a bone marrow transplant. When I did, my friends and family said I was not myself anymore. When I went back for my checkup six weeks later, the doctor informed me that my DNA no longer existed. He said that all the DNA in my body currently, is a perfect match to the DNA of the donor.”. Now get a load of this! I ran a google query “where does blood originate?” and the following is the first response that appeared.
“The bone marrow is the soft material in the middle of bones. Special cells in the bone marrow make most of the blood cells in your body. Plasma proteins are made mostly by the liver. The water and electrolytes in plasma come from the food and water that you eat.”
The following is from an article, in LIVE SCIENCE, entitled: 3 Human Chimeras That Already Exist
“A person can also be a chimera if he or she undergoes a bone marrow transplant. During such transplants — which can be used, for example, to treat leukemia — a person will have his or her own bone marrow destroyed and replaced with bone marrow from another person. Bone marrow contains stem cells that develop into red blood cells. This means that, for the rest of his or her life, a person with a bone marrow transplant will have blood cells that are genetically identical to those of the donor, and are not genetically the same as the other cells in the recipient’s own body.
In some cases, all of the blood cells in a person who received a bone marrow transplant will match the DNA of the donor. But in other cases, recipients may have a mix of both their own blood cells and donor ones, according to a 2004 review paper in the journal Bone Marrow Transplantation. A blood transfusion will also temporarily give a person cells from someone else, but in a bone marrow transplant, the new blood cells are permanent, according to the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, California.”
Where does blood come from?
Plasma proteins are made mostly by the liver. The water and electrolytes in plasma come from the food and water that you eat.
Although blood is a fluid, in some respects it is a kind of connective tissue. Its cells originate in bone marrow and the spleen, and in the blood there are potential molecular fibres in the form of fibrinogen. These are activated when a blood clot forms. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood
Sometime later, I developed a friendship with a man I met at work. We discovered that, besides the fact that we both love the Lord, we both like to write. One day he was talking to me about the book he was fixing to write. I told him that I was thinking about writing a book on this topic of Chimera and transplants. When I shared it with him, he said “ funny you should be telling me this. I was in a terrible accident and in a coma, I had had multiple blood transfusions when I awoke, I immediately felt a war going on inside of me. I told my friends, there was this voice inside of me saying “we got to go out and drink and chase women and party because we do not have much time..” my friends said I was just using that as an excuse to do all the things I had never done before. (I should mention that my friend is an ordained Minister and pastor of a Church) He went on to say, “I was really struggling and finally went to a counselor for help. My wife had already been very upset because I was not behaving like my normal self. When she found out I had gone for counseling, she became angry and left me. She said I was not the man she married. He said the struggle inside him was overwhelming and went on constantly for a long time. He felt that he had finally gotten it under control, but it was quite a battle.”
I told him about some of the stories I had heard and read. There was one where a young girl had received a heart transplant and started having horrible nightmares. In these dreams, she said, she could see someone trying to murder her. Her mother took her to doctors and counselors and finally met with the police. They drew a picture of the man the girl described, and with the other details that she provided, they caught the murderer of the girl, from whom she had received the heart.
I found another story of a young boy who was training to be an Olympic swimmer. He had an accident and needed a transplant. Afterward, he became terrified of the water and refused to swim. They discovered that the boy whose organ he had received, drown.
My friend and I began to research and found many more stories. We also learned about a lot of new developments in the area of transplants, for instance, hand transplants and face transplants. I asked my friend, suppose the person inside him had been a murderer, and this person was pushing his murderous desires onto him? I said, “Suppose it had been a face transplant, and every time you looked in the mirror, you saw the face of the murderer?” Oh, my! How horrible an existence that would be.
We are still learning and discovering how our lives are complicated by the spiritual aspects of human beings. So much of our behaviors and inclinations are passed down to us from our ancestors through the bloodline. Of course, we also have personality traits and inclinations that are peculiar to us individually. So we find ourselves struggling and bumbling our way through life as we learn. Imagine how much more complicated your life would be once you added another person’s into the mix along with all of their issues and influences. Do you really want to deal with that many voices in your head? How would you ever determine who was dominating or why you are doing what you are doing?
The following link is for an article written by a DOCTOR. It is the scientific explanation for what GOD told us. I place it here because it exactly confirms what I have been telling you. It merely DENIES the SPIRITUAL ASPECT! VERY DANGEROUS! Science does not want to recognize a Creator. They do not care about GOD and what he has to say about anything. DO YOU? Do you want to bet your eternal soul on what science says? They are just trying to placate people because they make HUGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY on transplants.

“(NaturalNews) Becoming an organ donor is a great way to help out a person in the event of one’s death. A study has shown, however, that sometimes donor recipients take on certain characteristics or personality traits from the donor, a phenomenon that researchers are having a difficult time explaining.” (This article contains some good information as well as several cases of chimerism in transplant recipients.)

Transplantation has become standard of care to treat end-organ failure, replacing a failed organ with a functioning
one. However, the toxicity of the immunosuppressive agents that are critical to graft maintenance is significant. Complications associated with the use of these agents include opportunistic infections, cardiovascular disorders, an increased rate of malignancy, and renal failure. As a result, approaches to induce tolerance to transplanted organs and/or minimize immunosuppression are a major priority. This review summarizes the role of chimerism in tolerance induction, presenting an historic perspective and ending on clinical protocols actively underway.

The Chimera is the official ASTS news magazine and was originally developed in 1989 to provide the membership with relevant news concerning the Society and the field of transplantation. The name, Chimera, comes from Greek mythology. It is described as having the body of a lion, a goat’s head and a serpent’s tail that ends in a viper’s head. The Chimera was believed to be unconquerable, strong, great and swift of foot. The word Chimera is often used metaphorically to describe things that have combined attributes from different sources as in transplant patients with donor organs.
The medical community is very upset that people are beginning to learn about this truth. They are scurrying to run damage control, trying to deny that these things are true. They are calling it, of course, “conspiracy theory” and fear mongering. But, you can see by the items/articles I have presented to you that they have known all about this phenomenon for a long time. I am sure before they ever began the practice of transplants and transfusions. Now they want to act like it is all a big surprise and they are not even sure it happens unless they do a study. HOGWASH! Wake up, people. There is a greater agenda here. There is a force behind these things that is driving all of the insanity the “scientific, intellectuals” are practicing on we the people.
‘It is a big ethical question, but I believe transplant patients should be told there is a possibility that they will take on a donor’s characteristics,’ he said. (Read more of the article by clicking on the title above.)
He was watching TV in bed when he got the call. It was the transplant team at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. They had a kidney for him, from a donor who had just overdosed in a New York deli. Did he want it?
Brian wasn’t in great shape. His failing kidney made him exhausted, he had no appetite, he would soon need dialysis, and he’d been diagnosed with hepatitis C, probably contracted decades before when he was addicted to heroin and cocaine. But that didn’t mean he was ready to take just any old organ. “I’m not about to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire,” he told STAT. “I won’t take one from someone who was shooting dope or selling sex.”
This dilemma has become surprisingly common for transplant patients, as the nation’s opioid epidemic yields a tragic surge in organ donors. And surgeons themselves face a quandary: How much of the overdose victim’s story should they reveal to desperate transplant candidates?
Brian’s doctors believed disclosing how the donor died was just part of getting the patient’s informed consent. Yet other surgeons feel that this is a breach of the donor’s privacy and that it may not be doing the patient any favors: The stigma surrounding drug addiction can lead someone to turn down an organ that could have saved his or her life.
With little guidance about exactly what constitutes informed consent, surgeons walk this fine line every day.
The numbers have been staggering, especially in those areas hardest hit by the opioid epidemic, said Alexandra Glazier, president of the New England Organ Bank. This year about 21 percent of the organ donors in the region died of a drug overdose, she said, compared with 4 percent in 2010.
PIGS are the foulest, nastiest, filthiest creatures on earth. God considers them an abomination. Now “scientists” want to mingle your DNA with the DNA of pigs. It is not enough that they have gotten folks to love the taste of pig flesh and they are stuffing their faces with it. NOW, they want to insert human/pig grown cells, body parts, and organs into your body. Making you a human pig CHIMERA an abomination to GOD.
Every day in the United States, 22 people die while waiting for a kidney, liver or heart transplant. It’s sort of the twisted downside to all of the improvements our society has managed in areas of automobile safety and trauma care. More people are surviving accidents and injuries that might have killed them 10 or 20 years ago. On top of that, medical advances are helping us do a better job of keeping people with organ failure alive. So the supply of donor organs is shrinking even as the demand for transplants is growing.
With this in mind, it’s no surprise that scientists are trying to figure out how to make transplantable organs. For years, efforts have focused on human stem cells, the blank canvas cells in an embryo that differentiate into all the other cells of the body. But it turns out stem cells in Petri dishes can’t be made into usable tissues and organs very well. So scientists are exploring ways to get them to grow inside the embryos of other species, creating a chimera — a term, taken from Greek mythology, meaning an animal made of different species.
Two recent papers show this is possible. One demonstrated that it’s possible to create chimeras using human stem cells implanted in a pig fetus. While the process was not efficient, some of the embryos survived long enough to reach a pre-determined destruction date (set for ethical reasons). Of those that survived, most had human cells incorporated into the pig fetus. A second study showed that diabetic mice could be cured by growing donor pancreases in rat-mice chimeras.
Despite 90 million years of evolution separating human and pigs from our last common ancestor, we share a remarkable amount of biology. Human-mouse and human-rat chimeras have not been successful, probably because the differences between humans and rodents are more profound. So, Jun Wu and his team at the Salk Institute in La Jolla, Calif., set out to test whether human stem cells injected into a pig embryo could create a viable embryo. It worked, although not perfectly. Only a tiny fraction of the cells in the chimera embryos were human. And they didn’t form into reliable patterns. Instead, they were scattered throughout the embryo. From Sharon Belgley at STAT:
The attempts at human-pig chimeras failed more often than they succeeded. And even the successes carried very few human cells. “The overall human contribution was very low, with what we estimate is less than 1 human cell per 100,000 pig cells,” and no human cells in the chimeras’ brains, [Wu said].
The study also attempted to streamline chimera creation using more the traditional matchup of rats and mice. In those experiments, Wu showed that it was possible for a mouse-rat chimera to produce a specific organ or cell type by using CRISPR gene editing. They disabled genes in the rat fetus that are responsible for development and then injected the mouse stem cells. Although the technique wasn’t used in the human-pig chimera experiments, it showed that more focused organ-generating chimeras may be possible. That would significantly increase the chances of developing transplantable organs for patients.
The second chimera paper proved it was possible to cure diabetes in mice by growing pancreas cells from mouse stem cells in mouse-rat chimeras and then transferring them into the diabetic mice. Because the stem cells came from the diabetic mouse, the procedure offered a workaround for the immunosuppression issues that accompany organ transplants. From Sarah Kaplan of the Washington Post:
Because the transplanted cells were grown from stem cells taken from mice, the animals required just five days of immunosuppressive drugs to keep their bodies from rejecting the new tissue. After that, they were able to live normally with healthy blood glucose levels for over a year — half a lifetime in human terms.
Further applications of both chimeric technologies could allow scientists to develop better animal models of human diseases. Most basic scientific research and pharmaceutical drug development is done on mice or rats that have been altered to simulate human diseases, such as diabetes. But the match is often not as close as scientists would like. That is an often-cited reason why many drugs never make it to market. Developing a mouse or pig that could grow human cell tissue would offer significant research advantages. There is even talk about chimeras that could grow tissue that would simulate that of newborn babies, which are never included in drug trials because of ethical considerations and who are affected by a very particular set of understudied health conditions.
But while these papers offer promise for the realm of transplants, they also bring a slew of ethical considerations related to the mingling of animal and human cells. From the Washington Post:
The technique is already the subject of a vigorous debate about the ethics of introducing human material into animals; since 2015, the National Institutes of Health has had a moratorium on funding for certain human-animal chimera research. (The new study was performed in California at the Salk Institute without federal funds.) Some argue that, since stem cells can become any kind of tissue, including parts of the nervous system, chimeras raise the specter of an animal with a human brain or reproductive organs. Others think there’s a symbolic or sacred line between human and animal genetic material that should not be crossed.
In the human-pig chimera experiment, some human neuronal progenitor cells that would become neurons where found in the embryos. University of California at Davis stem cell scientist Paul Knoepfler, who was not involved in the study, commented on the ethical considerations in his blog:
Even with complementation (where for example a pig chimera would ideally only have human cells contributing to one organ such as a kidney or pancreas) one of the ethical dilemmas is that the chimeras would have to be taken to term in order to get a usable human pancreas. It is unclear if taking a human-animal chimera to term could be ethically permissible. In today’s paper, the team isolated the human-pig chimeras for analysis very early in development… Other ethical challenges include avoiding excessive (however one defines that) human cell contribution to chimeric brains and any human contribution to germ cells. Potential safeguards for the latter include never letting the animals be bred or always including a genetic change making them sterile or both.
But chimeric animals are not the only technology being considered to fill the organ transplant gap. Another idea — one that is less controversial — gaining traction is bio-printing. It turns out human cells can be sprayed through 3D printers just as easily as other materials. Using this method, scientists have grown ears, noses and other tissue types. These have been implanted them into mice, where they assimilate into the circulatory system and continue to thrive. From the Economist:
The real prize of all this effort would be to be able to print entire organs. For kidneys, Roots Analysis, a medical-technology consultancy, reckons that should be possible in about six years’ time. Livers, which have a natural tendency to regenerate anyway, should also arrive reasonably soon. Hearts, with their complex internal geometries, will take longer. In all cases, though, printed organs would mean that those awaiting transplants have to wait neither for the altruism of another nor the death of a stranger to provide the means to save their own lives.

THIS IS THE REASON FOR ALL THE BLOOD DRIVES CONSTANTLY GOING ON ACROSS THE NATION. And you thought the blood was going to wounded soldiers, accident victims and disaster survivors. WAKE UP, PEOPLE!!
“Could the secret to eternal youth be found in blood transfusions from young people? Some claim that transfusions with “young blood” from teenagers can reverse the aging process,” the report from CBS reads.
“I’m looking into parabiosis stuff, which I think is really interesting. This is where they did the young blood into older mice and they found that had a massive rejuvenating effect,” Peter Thiel, the billionaire co-founder of PayPal and adviser to Donald Trump told Inc. magazine. “I think there are a lot of these things that have been strangely under-explored.”
But it’s no longer an experiment with just mice. The startup company by Jesse Karmazin, Ambrosia, is doing this with humans, and the rich are lining up to get the blood of the young.
“Their brains are younger, their hearts. Their hair, if it was gray, it turns dark again,” Karmazin said of the treatment.
As Vanity Fair reports, Ambrosia, which buys its blood from blood banks, now has about 100 paying customers. Some are Silicon Valley technologists, like Thiel, though Karmazin stressed that tech types aren’t Ambrosia’s only clients and that anyone over 35 is eligible for its transfusions.
As The Free Thought Project reported in January, a study published in Science and Nature Medicine revealed that transfusing young mouse blood into old mice can actually prevent the symptoms of aging. This groundbreaking discovery could lead to medical breakthroughs and the development of new medicines. However, a report from the Vice health news outlet “Tonic” has pointed out far more sinister applications for this knowledge.
“We found that it was safe and feasible to administer infusions of young plasma weekly,” Dr. Sharon Shaw, an Alzheimer’s researcher at Stanford, said.
A similar claim was made by journalist Jeff Bercovici last year, after he conducted several interviews with Silicon Valley aristocrats including Peter Thiel, and learned about this transfusion procedure called “parabiosis,” where the blood of young people is used to prevent aging.
“There are widespread rumors in Silicon Valley, where life-extension science is a popular obsession, that various wealthy individuals from the tech world have already begun practicing parabiosis, spending tens of thousands of dollars for the procedures and young-person-blood, and repeating the exercise several times a year,” Bercovici reported.
In his article, Bercovici also expressed concerns about a developing black market for young people’s blood.
While there is certainly nothing wrong with willing young adults selling their blood to the elite, the underlying theme of this practice has strong roots in the occult.
In most modern cultures, mass murder and human sacrifice still takes place out in the open under the cover of warfare, while many argue that cannibalism also still takes place but behind closed doors.
It is only in the past few hundred years that the practice of cannibalism among royals has not been publicized. In Europe, around the time of the American Revolution “corpse medicine” was very popular among the ruling class, Charles II even brewed his own.
Dr Richard Sugg of Durham University has conducted extensive research into the practice of corpse medicine among the royalty.
“The human body has been widely used as a therapeutic agent with the most popular treatments involving flesh, bone or blood. Cannibalism was found not only in the New World, as often believed, but also in Europe,” Sugg said.
“One thing we are rarely taught at school yet is evidenced in literary and historic texts of the time is this: James I refused corpse medicine; Charles II made his own corpse medicine; and Charles I was made into corpse medicine. Along with Charles II, eminent users or prescribers included Francis I, Elizabeth I’s surgeon John Banister, Elizabeth Grey, Countess of Kent, Robert Boyle, Thomas Willis, William III, and Queen Mary,” he added.
If this wasn’t strange enough, the current royal family of England claims to be direct descendants of Prince Vlad III Dracula of Wallachia (modern Romania). This was the sick and depraved ruler, Vlad the Impaler, who was known as a butcher and who eventually became the inspiration for the most famous vampire stories in history.
Aside from the gruesome historical and occult background of such practices, there is a lack of data that suggests the process even works. Despite Karmazin’s claims that “young blood is causing changes that appear to make the aging process reverse,” scientists have yet to identify a link between blood transfusions from the young and any tangible health benefits.1,473 views

Adrenochrome the Human Sacrifice Drug of Choice of the Elite Join us: https://www.facebook.com/KilluminatiSoldiersReborn Adrenochrome is like LSD and mescaline but much much more potent. The elite claim it is a “miracle drug” that keeps them young and full of energy. It is HARVESTED from human beings. It comes from the Adrenalin glands of humans and from the brain stem. This is why they torture, rape and hurt children, babies and young folks so much because they release much more adrenalin when they are scared, in pain or fearful. Note the “Circumcision RITUAL” in today’s society is also apart of the harvesting along with abortions. This is why the rabbi sucks the blood from the babies penis after they cut the baby. They use the blood and skin/organs to make a different forms of the drug and also to make lotions and facials. This is why most of the worlds wars happen so that they can keep their “supply in stock”. The brain stems of aborted babies are sold for the highest amount because of all of the Adrenochrome within it. Satanists have been doing this since the beginning of time in their blood sacrifices of humans and animals so they can drink the blood and get their “high and fixes”. The “Holy Grail” was used to drink the blood of Christ and that is why it is involved in the highest levels of satanic sacrifices and what they use to drink the blood of the most noble martyrs of the father above. This is where the “Vampires” come from because there are people that drink major amounts of blood to keep themselves “young” and full of demonic energy. This is the entire purpose of the “order of the red cross” and why the red cross takes in SO MUCH blood after creating these false natural disasters once their supplies are getting at certain levels. But most of the blood “donated” is low quality to them because it is given freely and there isn’t much Adrenochrome in it because there wasn’t much pain, torture or fear running through the donors bodies at the time. Last September, I reported on the new phenomenon of élite vampirism, wherein perfectly healthy but wealthy people get very expensive transfusions of blood plasma from young people for their alleged rejuvenating, life-extension effects.
Those wealthy elites get their blood transfusions from for-profit companies, such as Ambrosia Health, reportedly the first for-profit company selling transfusions of human plasma, allegedly harvested from young adults from local blood banks, under the guise of running a clinical trial. It takes multiple donors to make one package of blood plasma. The transfusions cost $8,000 for 1 liter, pumped in across two days; for 2 liters, the company charges $12,000.
PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel is one of these “elite vampires” who, according to Gawker, spends $40,000 every 3 months on blood transfusions from 18-year-olds.
Since the company’s beginning in 2017 in Monterey, California, Ambrosia had opened another branch in Houston, Texas. Run by Jesse Karmazin, a medical school graduate in his 30s without a license to practice medicine, the company’s so-called “clinical trials” are overseen by a licensed doctor, David Wright, who was disciplined in 2015 by the California Medical Board for giving his patients intravenous treatments of vitamins and antibiotics for “non traditional” purposes. A bioethicist from McGill University maintained that Ambrosia calls its business a “clinical trial” because they would be unable to get FDA approval to sell the blood plasma transfusions otherwise.
Now, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has finally weighed in.
Yesterday, the FDA issued an announcement cautioning consumers against receiving young blood-plasma transfusions. As a result, Ambrosia put a notice on its website that “In compliance with the FDA announcement issued February 19, 2019, we have ceased patient treatments.”
Below is the press announcement from FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, M.D., and Director of FDA Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research Peter Marks, M.D. and Ph.D., February 19, 2019:
The FDA has recently become aware of reports of establishments in several states that are offering infusions of plasma from young donors to purportedly treat the effects of a variety of conditions. The conditions range from normal aging and memory loss to serious diseases like dementia, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease or post-traumatic stress disorder. We have significant public health concerns about the promotion and use of plasma for these purposes. There is no proven clinical benefit of infusion of plasma from young donors to cure, mitigate, treat, or prevent these conditions, and there are risks associated with the use of any plasma product.
Today, we’re alerting consumers and health care providers that treatments using plasma from young donors have not gone through the rigorous testing that the FDA normally requires in order to confirm the therapeutic benefit of a product and to ensure its safety. As a result, the reported uses of these products should not be assumed to be safe or effective. We strongly discourage consumers from pursing this therapy outside of clinical trials under appropriate institutional review board and regulatory oversight.
Plasma is the liquid portion of the blood. It contains proteins that help clot blood and can be used for the management of bleeding and clotting abnormalities. The benefits of plasma have long been recognized, especially in trauma settings or in patients whose blood is unable to clot due to medications or certain illnesses. The FDA-recognized Circular of Information for the Use of Human Blood and Blood Components, published by AABB, lists recognized indications for which the administration of plasma is safe and effective; these are included in the FDA’s safety communication. For those patients receiving a plasma product for a recognized use, the benefits of treatment have been determined by the agency to outweigh its risks. But even under such recognized uses, plasma administration is not without risks. The more common risks are allergic reactions and transfusion associated circulatory overload and less common risks include transfusion related acute lung injury or transfusion associated circulatory overload and infectious disease transmission.
Our concerns regarding treatments using plasma from young donors are heightened by the fact that there is no compelling clinical evidence on its efficacy, nor is there information on appropriate dosing for treatment of the conditions for which these products are being advertised. Plasma is not FDA-recognized or approved to treat conditions such as normal aging or memory loss, or other diseases like Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease. Moreover, reports we’re seeing indicate that the dosing of these infusions can involve administration of large volumes of plasma that can be associated with significant risks including infectious, allergic, respiratory and cardiovascular risks, among others.
The administration of plasma for indications other than those recognized or approved by the FDA should be performed by a qualified investigator or sponsor who has an active Investigational New Drug (IND) application with the FDA. Clinical studies are performed under an IND to help ensure the safety of participants in the trials. When clinical trials are not conducted under an IND, it means that the FDA has not reviewed the experimental therapy to help make sure it is reasonably safe.
Simply put, we’re concerned that some patients are being preyed upon by unscrupulous actors touting treatments of plasma from young donors as cures and remedies. Such treatments have no proven clinical benefits for the uses for which these clinics are advertising them and are potentially harmful. There are reports of bad actors charging thousands of dollars for infusions that are unproven and not guided by evidence from adequate and well-controlled trials. The promotion of plasma for these unproven purposes could also discourage patients suffering from serious or intractable illnesses from receiving safe and effective treatments that may be available to them. We strongly urge individuals to consult their treating physicians prior to considering the use of such products for aging indications or for the treatment of conditions such as dementia, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease or post-traumatic stress disorder given the known and unknown risks associated with their use.
We support sound, scientific research and regulation of medical treatments. We will use our tools and authorities to protect patients from unscrupulous actors and unsafe products. As a general matter, we will consider taking regulatory and enforcement actions against companies that abuse the trust of patients and endanger their health with uncontrolled manufacturing conditions or by promoting so-called ‘treatments’ that haven’t been proven safe or effective for any use.
As a growing number of clinics offer plasma from young donors and similar therapies, we want to encourage consumers considering treatments to ask their health care providers to confirm that the FDA has reviewed any treatment that is investigational. You also can ask the clinical investigator to give you the FDA-issued IND number and to provide a copy of the FDA communication acknowledging the IND. We encourage patients to ask for this information before receiving treatment. Furthermore, we urge patients and their health care providers to report any adverse events related to treatment with plasma from young donors for aging or related indications to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program. The agency will continue to closely monitor this issue and take additional steps, as appropriate, along with state and local health departments and blood establishments.
According to Wikipeida, in addition to Ambrosia, other for-profit companies selling young-blood transfusions include Alkahest and Young Blood Institute.
