There is a lot of talk about ethics these days, what is right and what is wrong. We are living in a world where people have lost touch with reality to the point where TRUTH has become a meaningless word.
We also hear a lot of talk about HOPE. Everyone and his brother is promising HOPE to people who are living through some of the scariest times the world has seen in 100’s of years, maybe longer.
In a world where spirituality is the byword of the day but not in relation to the Creator or the Bible. Where does FAITH come into the picture and where does one place their FAITH.
In this post we are going to look at all these and more. Hopefully, by the end of the post you will have a solid footing. Grounded in truth, filled with HOPE and having complete Faith in what the future holds for you.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; EPHESIANS 6:6-10

faith (n.)
And faith is neither the submission of the reason, nor is it the acceptance, simply and absolutely upon testimony, of what reason cannot reach. Faith is: the being able to cleave to a power of goodness appealing to our higher and real self, not to our lower and apparent self. [Matthew Arnold, “Literature & Dogma,” 1873]
From late 14c. as “confidence in a person or thing with reference to truthfulness or reliability,” also “fidelity of one spouse to another.” Also in Middle English “a sworn oath,” hence its frequent use in Middle English oaths and asseverations (par ma fay, mid-13c.; bi my fay, c. 1300).

Dwight Smith
“But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.”

-
Because it is in our DNA. “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened.” Genesis 3:6-7. Our eyes were opened to evil.
-
Because Satan knows how to blind us “In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:4. Satan is a liar by nature and is always seeking to deceive and blind.
-
Because discernment needs to be nurtured. Our passage above emphasizes that the evil in us has to be 1. redeemed for, 2. disciplined, and 3. the new righteousness in us from Jesus “practiced” by the power of the Holy Spirit in us.
-
Because righteousness is not natural to us. “Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?” Romans 6:16
Time everyday listening to the Holy Spirit in the word of God forms the new person, and, righteousness in us. From this time: 1. We learn to pay attention to what God says. 2. We find our heart more bent towards obedience. 3. We recognize deception that dances around us, inviting us once again into the sin of Eve and Adam. And, 4. we reject it for what it is: an invitation into trusting ourselves rather than believing (practicing faith in) God.

In our PostModern Techno World there is no ultimate TRUTH. Everyone has there own truth. Truthis “relative” is the cry.
When someone says “truth is relative,” they usually mean that truth is not absolute, but rather conditional or an opinion1. According to relativism, there is no absolute or objective truth, and truth is relative and subjective2. Being a relativist means that a belief, idea, proposition, claim, etc. is never true or false, good or bad, or right or wrong, absolutely2.
1. Absolute Truth. Absolute truth is true regardless of how a person thinks or feels about it. It does ot change and it will be standing in the end.
2. Relative Truth. Relative truth is the belief truth changes based on the individual’s understanding of it. With relative truth, there are no absolutes and what may be true for you is simply not true for me.
A common statement reflecting relative truth may sound like this “You have your truth and I have mine.” The problem with relative truth it is a contradiction in terms. If truth is factual and indisputable then you cannot have different truths for different people. Relative truth is a rejection of absolute truth.
One reason people embrace the idea of relative truth is because it allows them to create their own reality that frees them to do whatever they want. I know we often like to think of this as a societal problem however this problem exists in the church as well. This is the age we are living in. People are surrounding themselves with those who will tell them the “truth” they want to hear. While this gives them the freedom to justify how they live, they are basing their lives on a truth that is not true at all.
Ultimate truth is a philosophical concept that refers to the underlying, all-encompassing, constant truth of life. It is the understanding that all phenomena are empty of any inherent self-nature, permanence, concrete meaning, value, definition, or function3. The ultimate truth is inexpressible, empty, and lies outside of conventional experience and language4 SOURCE

Exploring the Christian Concept of Ultimate Reality
Ultimate reality is a fundamental concept in various religious traditions, including Christianity. Christians believe in one God, who is the creator of everything and the source of all reality. This article aims to explore the Christian concept of ultimate reality, its nature, and its relationship with the physical world.
The Nature of Ultimate Reality
- God:Christians believe that ultimate reality is God,who is infinite, eternal, and unchanging.God is the source of all life, and everything exists because of him.
- Spiritual:Ultimate reality is not limited to the physical world but also encompasses the spiritual realm. Christians believe in the existence of angels and demons, who are spiritual beings created by God.
- Trinity: (Most) Christians believe in the trinity, which is the doctrine that God exists in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. Each person is distinct but equal in divinity.
The Relationship between Ultimate Reality and the Physical World
The Christian concept of ultimate reality also includes the relationship between God and the physical world. Here are some key ideas:
- Creation:Christians believe that God created the physical world and everything in it. The Bible describes the creation story in the book of Genesis.
- Providence:God is not only the creator but also sustains the physical world.Christians believe that God is involved in every aspect of human life and history.
- Salvation:Christians believe that God entered into the physical world through the person of Jesus Christ to save humanity from sin and death.Salvation is a central concept in Christianity. (Christ paid the price for our redemption and it is only through His blood that we are saved)
The Importance of Ultimate Reality in Christianity
Ultimate Reality, also known as God, is at the core of Christian belief. It is the fundamental basis for Christian ethics, morality, and worldview.Understanding the concept of Ultimate Reality is crucial for a meaningful and fulfilling Christian life.Without this understanding, it is impossible to comprehend the true nature of God and how to live in accordance with His will.
Christians believe that by following God’s will, they can live a fulfilling and meaningful life. This includes following the teachings of Jesus Christ and living according to the principles of love, compassion, forgiveness, and justice.
Ultimate Reality is also central to Christian worship and prayer.Christians believe that by praying and seeking God’s presence, they can deepen their relationship with Him and experience His love and grace.Through this relationship, Christians seek to be transformed into the image of Christ and to live in accordance with His teachings.
This concept shapes the core beliefs and practices of Christianity, from the nature of God to the purpose of human existence.
The Purpose of Human Existence
Christianity teaches that human beings were created in the image of God and have a unique purpose in life. This purpose includes knowing and loving God, living in community with others, and serving the world. Christians believe that ultimate reality gives meaning and purpose to life, and that human beings are called to use their talents and resources to make the world a better place.
The Role of Scripture and Tradition
- Scripture: Christians believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and the primary source of knowledge about God and his will for humanity. It is through the Bible that Christians learn about God’s character, his plan for salvation, and his expectations for how his followers should live.
- Tradition: In addition to the Bible, Christians also look to the teachings and practices of the Church throughout history. This tradition includes the creeds, sacraments, and other rituals that have been passed down through the generations. Christians believe that this tradition helps them to better understand the nature of God and how to live in accordance with his will.
Overall, the concept of ultimate reality is central to the beliefs and practices of Christianity. It shapes the way that Christians understand God, their purpose in life, and their relationship with others. By seeking to know and love ultimate reality, Christians strive to live their lives in accordance with God’s will and to make the world a better place.
Cultural Influences
Cultural influences can also make it difficult to understand ultimate reality in Christianity. Christianity has spread across the world, and cultural differences can affect how people understand and interpret the teachings of Christianity. Some cultures may have difficulty relating to certain concepts, while others may have different perspectives on certain issues.
The Problem of Evil
The problem of evil is another challenge to understanding ultimate reality in Christianity. If God is all-powerful and all-loving, why does evil exist in the world? Christians have attempted to address this issue through various theological explanations, such as the concept of free will or the idea that suffering can lead to spiritual growth. However, these explanations are not universally accepted and can be difficult to reconcile with the belief in an all-powerful and loving God.
Science and Philosophy
The rise of science and philosophy has also challenged traditional Christian understandings of ultimate reality. Scientific discoveries have expanded our knowledge of the universe and the origins of life, while philosophy has raised questions about the nature of reality and the existence of God. Some Christians have attempted to reconcile these findings with their faith, while others reject certain scientific and philosophical ideas as incompatible with Christianity.
Comparing Ultimate Reality in Christianity to Other Religions and Philosophies
Christianity is one of the many worldviews that address the concept of ultimate reality. While some of these worldviews may have similarities with Christianity, there are also significant differences that set it apart. Understanding these differences can help provide a better appreciation of what makes Christianity unique in its approach to ultimate reality.
One of the primary differences between Christianity and other religions and philosophies is the concept of God. In Christianity, God is not just a higher power or a force, but a personal being who actively engages with humanity. This belief is different from the views of pantheistic religions and philosophies, which consider the universe and everything in it as divine or manifestations of the divine.
Christianity vs. Eastern Religions
- Karma:Eastern religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism believe in the concept of karma, which is the idea that every action has a consequence. In Christianity, while there is a belief in the principle of sowing and reaping, there is no strict adherence to the idea of karma.
- Reincarnation:Eastern religions also believe in reincarnation, which is the belief that the soul is reborn into a new body after death. Christianity, on the other hand, believes in the resurrection of the body and life after death in a different form. (Christians believe we only have one life in this world. We only die once)
Christianity vs. Philosophy
Philosophy also deals with the concept of ultimate reality. However, it differs from Christianity in several ways:
- Objectivity:Philosophy aims for an objective understanding of ultimate reality through reason and logic, while Christianity acknowledges that ultimate reality is beyond human comprehension.
- Meaning and Purpose:Christianity asserts that ultimate reality is not just a concept to be understood but is personal and desires to have a relationship with humanity. Philosophy, on the other hand, is more concerned with understanding the nature of existence.
Christianity vs. New Age Spirituality
New Age spirituality is a loosely defined set of beliefs that combine elements of various spiritual and philosophical traditions. Some of the key differences between Christianity and New Age spirituality include:
- Relativism:New Age spirituality emphasizes individualism and relativism, while Christianity asserts that there is absolute truth and a standard of morality that applies to all people.
- Salvation:In New Age spirituality, individuals seek to become their own saviors and attain enlightenment.Christianity, on the other hand, teaches that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ.

TODAY, people are clamoring for change!! They say that the old ways are archaic and not applicable to our postmodern, techno-age society. They want a NEW RELIGION. a NEW moral code, a NEW belief system, they want the BIBLE to be modernized and rewritten. Everyone from Presidents to the World Economic Forum, to AI, and even the Pope have threatened to rewrite the Bible.
What is a plumb line in the Bible?
A plumb line, also called a plummet, is a cord with a non-magnetic weight attached to one end. When the cord is held in such a way that the weight can dangle freely, an exact vertical can be determined. Painters and carpenters use plumb lines to keep their work straight. It is difficult, while in the middle of a project, to determine a true horizontal or vertical line without an objective measuring tool, so a plumb line is employed.A plumb line applies the law of gravity to find right angles, to indicate the most direct route from top to bottom, and to keep things plumb.A plumb line doesn’t change or move with the whims of the carpenter. It remains true, and all work must line up with it or risk being crooked.
The term plumb line is used in Scripture in several contexts. The Lord pictures Himself as a builder in Isaiah 28: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation” (Isaiah 28:16). This is a promise of an unshakeable kingdom, with the Messiah in charge.Jesus Christ is the “precious cornerstone” (see Mark 12:10; Acts 4:11; Romans 9:33; 1 Peter 2:6). As the Lord builds His kingdom, He will ensure it is perfect in every way: “I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line” (Isaiah 28:17). There will be no crookedness/sin in the kingdom of Christ.
When the Jews returned from captivity in Babylon, they began to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. For a time, the work languished, and God sent the prophets Zechariah and Haggai to spur the people on to finish the rebuilding. The message was encouraging: do not despair over the small beginnings; God will see to it that the temple is completed, and Zerubbabel the governor will oversee the project. “Whoever has despised the day of small things shall rejoice, and shall see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel” (Zechariah 4:10, ESV).
Amos 7:7–8 says, “This is what he showed me: The Lord was standing by a wall that had been built true to plumb, with a plumb line in his hand. And the Lord asked me, ‘What do you see, Amos?’ ‘A plumb line,’ I replied. Then the Lord said, ‘Look, I am setting a plumb line among my people Israel; I will spare them no longer.’” When God said He was setting a plumb line among His people, He was declaring an end to their attempts to justify their crooked ways. The Lord was setting the standard. God does not negotiate His laws.He does not change with the whims of culture (Numbers 23:19). God’s moral law is the plumb line against which we determine right and wrong (John 17:17). Just as a carpenter’s plumb line is not subject to the opinions or the frustration of the worker, so God’s moral standards are not subject to the opinions of man.Wise people are those who line up their lives according to God’s plumb line rather than trying to move it to satisfy their own agendas.

This is what he showed me: The Lord was standing by a wall that had been built true to plumb, with a plumb line in his hand. And the Lord asked me, “What do you see, Amos?” “A plumb line,” I replied. Then the Lord said, “Look, I am setting a plumb line among my people Israel; I will spare them no longer” (Amos 7:7-8).
Anyone who has done any type of construction knows what a plumb line is. It is quite likely too that if you have ever had construction done, you can recognize when a plumb line has not been used. The result might be a wall that leans or appears warped, rather than straight and strong.
It was the Law that defined Israel as a nation — the Law that Israel had been built upon. The very Law that served as the foundation of who Israel was. That Law represented the upright and perfect standard of the very righteousness of God.
While Amos perhaps offers the strongest plumb line reference, there are other Old Testament verses that use the same analogy.
In 2 Kings, it says,“I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measuring line used against Samaria and the plumb line used against the house of Ahab”(21:13).
And even the prophet Isaiah says:
“I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line…” (Isaiah 28:17)
God will stretch out over Edom the measuring line of chaos and the plumb line of desolation.(Isaiah 34:11)
The plumb line then is the image — the parable — of God’s holy and righteous standard for Israel. It served as a measuring line representing Israel’s failure, and how far they had fallen from God’s guiding principles.
But you might ask, how does that apply to Christians today? After all, we are not bound by law, but rather are saved by grace — just as Paul says in his letter to the Ephesians:
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).
And to the Romans:
For we maintain that a man is justified by faith, apart from works of the law (Romans 3:28).
So where does the plumb line of the law fit into our lives today?
A Straight Line
Simply because the plumb line is an Old Testament representation of what God considers true and correct, does not mean it is to be discarded and ignored.
Even today, the plumb line of God’s law serves as a guideline for those saved by grace through faith.Jesus quite specifically taught that he had not come to abolish the Law, but rather to fulfill it (Matthew 5:17).
My favorite Bible teacher is someone I refer to as a friend, even though I have never met the man: Dr. Bill Creasy of the Logos Bible Study. He often referred to the Law as “the straight line by which we measure our crookedness.” Exactly right!
Even today, we can see the standard of God’s law and recognize how we miss the mark. And in case we needed more evidence, in his sermon on the mount, Jesus raised the standard even higher(Matthew 5:21-22, 27-28).
Wow. It isn’t then only the acts of murder and adultery, but merely having such thoughts in my heart and mind. Talk about a plumb line.
But Jesus doesn’t stop there, in that same sermon, he made the Lord’s expectations clear(Matthew 7:24-27).
Matthew 5:21-22 Read full chapter
21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Matthew 5:27-28
27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Indeed, we are to take the teachings of Christ Jesus to heart and act upon them, in faith and obedience. We are to use his words as our own plumb line. There can be no better foundation on which to build our lives.
Why Does This Matter?
Just as the Law of Moses served as a plumb line for Israel, so should the teachings of Christ serve as ours. We are called to be the images of God on earth; for our lives to reflect his love and grace to others, as he has done to us.
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:37-40).
Each day then, we ought to ask ourselves — Do I?
Do I truly love the Lord my God with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my mind and all my strength (Luke 10:27)? Do I truly love my neighbor as myself?
Are we living out the teachings of the Bible in our lives?
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another (John 13:35).
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you (Matthew 6:14).
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you (Ephesians: 4:32).

Do our lives exhibit the fruits of the Spirit? Love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control? (Galatians 5:22-23).
Indeed, the teachings of Christ Jesus and the Word of God are to be the plumb line for our lives. But these must be more than simply words on a page.
They are to be more than simply what we say we believe. We must use those words to direct and guide our life of the faith we proclaim, and as our source of guidance and encouragement.
Then — to paraphrase James — when we use the Bible as the plumb line of our lives; when we apply it in our daily lives; when people look at us and see the reflection of Christ in our lives. Then, we will be blessed in all we do.

As long as people’s faith and trust was in God and the Bible, the practitioners of the dark arts could not get the people to buy their lies. In order to gain control over the world, they had to destroy faith and trust in God and His Word. They had to convince people that there was a logical “scientific” explanation for all the miracles works of GOD.
Enter the Magic of Evolution. Just the tool to make people doubt the veracity of the Word of God written in the Bible and to disbelieve the Cration narrative. It was the stepping off point for the questioning of EVERY WORD in the Bible. It fed the resentment and anger toward God for everything that is wrong in the World.

Scopes Trial, (July 10–21, 1925, Dayton, Tennessee, U.S.), highly publicized trial (known as the “Monkey Trial”) of a Dayton, Tennessee, high-school teacher, John T. Scopes, charged with violating state law by teaching Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. The trial’s proceedings helped to bring the scientific evidence for evolution into the public sphere while also stoking a national debate over the veracity of evolution that continues to the present day.
In March 1925 the Tennesseelegislature had passed the Butler Act, which declared unlawful the teaching of any doctrine denying the divine creation of man as taught by the Bible.World attention focused on the trial proceedings, which promised and delivered confrontation between fundamentalist literal belief and liberal interpretation of the Scriptures. William Jennings Bryan led for the prosecution and Clarence Darrow for the defense.
Jury selection began on July 10, and opening statements, which included Darrow’s impassioned speech about the constitutionality of the Butler law and his claim that the law violated freedom of religion, began on July 13. Judge John Raulston ruled out any test of the law’s constitutionality or argument on the validity of evolutionary theory on the basis that Scopes, rather than the Butler law, was on trial.Raulston determined that expert testimony from scientists would be inadmissible.
The trial’s climax came on July 20, when Darrow called on Bryan to testify as an expert witness for the prosecution on the Bible. Raulston moved the trial to the courthouse lawn, citing the swell of spectators and stifling heat inside. Darrow’s cross-examination challenged Bryan on various biblical stories and the validity and practicality of their literal interpretation.Bryan responded by claiming that Darrow’s “only aim was to cast slurs on the Bible.” With Raulston limiting the trial to the single question of whether Scopes had taught evolution, which he admittedly had, Scopes was convicted and fined $100 on July 21. On appeal, the state Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the 1925 law but acquitted Scopes on the technicality that he had been fined excessively.
In the trial’s aftermath, Tennessee prevented the teaching of evolution in the classroom until the Butler Act’s repeal in 1967.Additionally, the state legislatures of Mississippi and Arkansas passed their own bans on the teaching of evolution in 1926 and 1928, respectively, which also lasted for several decades before being repealed.

evolution, theoryin biology postulating that the various types of plants, animals, and other living things on Earth have their origin in other preexisting types and that the distinguishable differences are due to modifications in successive generations. The theory ofevolutionis one of the fundamental keystones of modern biological theory.
The virtually infinite variations on life are the fruit of the evolutionary process. All living creatures are related by descent from common ancestors. Humans and other mammals descend from shrewlike creatures that lived more than 150 million years ago; mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fishes share as ancestors aquatic worms that lived 600 million years ago; and all plants and animals derive from bacteria-like microorganisms that originated more than 3 billion years ago. Biological evolution is a process of descent with modification. Lineages of organisms change through generations; diversity arises because the lineages that descend from common ancestors diverge through time.
The 19th-century English naturalist Charles Darwin argued that organisms come about by evolution, and he provided a scientific explanation, essentially correct but incomplete, of how evolution occurs and why it is that organisms have features—such as wings, eyes, and kidneys—clearly structured to serve specific functions. Natural selection was the fundamental concept in his explanation. Natural selection occurs because individuals having more-useful traits, such as more-acute vision or swifter legs, survive better and produce more progeny than individuals with less-favourable traits. Genetics, a science born in the 20th century, reveals in detail how natural selection works and led to the development of the modern theory of evolution. Beginning in the 1960s, a related scientific discipline, molecular biology, enormously advanced knowledge of biological evolution and made it possible to investigate detailed problems that had seemed completely out of reach only a short time previously—for example, how similar the genes of humans and chimpanzees might be (they differ in about 1–2 percent of the units that make up the genes).
This article discusses evolution as it applies generally to living things. For a discussion of human evolution, see the article human evolution. For a more complete treatment of a discipline that has proved essential to the study of evolution, see the articles genetics, human and heredity. Specific aspects of evolution are discussed in the articles coloration and mimicry. Evolution and Creationism in American Public Schools
views 3,543,061updated
Overview
The history of the teaching of evolution in America cannot be addressed without analyzing the origins of contemporary creationism. The Scopes Trial of 1925 is often regarded as a landmark in the battle to teach evolution in American public schools, but the U.S. Supreme Court did not overturn state laws that banned the teaching of evolution until 1968. In response, creationists adopted a new strategy, calling for “balanced treatment” in the teaching of evolution and the Creation. That is, they demanded that “Special Creation” be taught as science and that evolution should be described as “merely” a theory. (Evolution is only a theory)“Creation Science” has traditionally embraced religious tenets, most notably that of divine creation “from nothing,” distinct “kinds” of plants and animals, a worldwide flood, and a relatively recent origin of the universe. In 1987 the Supreme Court ruled that state laws requiring equal time for creationism were unconstitutional. In the 1990s some states removed evolution from their curricular mandates and gave local school boards the right to decide whether or not to teach evolution. Even though the National Academy of Science and the National Science Foundation have identified evolution as the unifying concept of modern biology, not all states require the inclusion of evolution in high school biology courses.
Background
Scientists and philosophers were interested in the concept of evolution long before Charles Darwin (1809-1882) published The Origin of Species in 1859, but the theory of evolution remained incomplete because no convincing mechanism for it had been proposed. Darwin’s theory of evolution states that species have evolved from ancestral forms over the course of millions of years and that the mechanism of evolution is natural selection. The Origin of Species was both a popular and controversial book. Theologians as well as scientists were divided about Darwin’s work, especially his ideas about human origins. Some supporters of evolutionary theory attempted to retain a role for divine intervention, at least in the case of the intellectual and spiritual faculties of human beings.
The most revolutionary aspect of the Darwinian revolution was its rejection of the comforting belief that the world had been designed and created especially for human life. Nevertheless, many theologians were able to abandon the idea of the fixity of species in order to explore new concepts regarding the relationship between God and the natural world. Others, however, held to a literal interpretation of the Bible and rejected any alternatives. When The Origin of Species was published, various theories of the Creation co-existed within the Christian community. Some theories managed to achieve a measure of harmony between theology and science. For example, advocates of the “day-age theory” taught that the “days” in scripture referred to ages rather than 24-hour days. The “gap theory,” in turn, suggested that the time period described by the book of Genesis could encompass a gap of millions of years between the creation of the earth and that of mankind. During the 1960s literal beliefs about the account of the Creation in Genesis became dominant among American anti-evolutionists.
In America, Darwinism was often used to justify business and political practices. Many states, however, excluded evolution from biology courses. The Scopes Trial is the best known example of the conflict surrounding the teaching of evolution. Even in the 1920s, most scientists were sure that teaching biology without references to evolution was impossible, but Christian Fundamentalists saw evolution as a threat to religious belief. Anti-evolutionary literature equated Darwinism with agnosticism and atheism. Fundamentalists tried to legislate the theory of evolution out of the classroom. In Kentucky in 1922 attempts to pass a law prohibiting the teaching of “Darwinism, Atheism, Agnosticism, or the theory of Evolution as it pertains to man” were narrowly defeated. In 1925, however, a Tennessee law made it illegal to teach “any theory that denies the story of the Divine Creation of man as taught in the Bible, and to teach instead that man has descended from a lower order of animals.” John Thomas Scopes was tried in Dayton, Tennessee, for teaching “the theory of the simian descent of man, in violation of a lately passed state law.” As recorded on a marker established by the Tennessee Historical Society on the courthouse grounds, Scopes was convicted. In 1927 a Tennessee court reversed the decision on a technicality. The Scopes Trial became the focus of a play called Inherit the Wind, which became a popular film in 1960.
Impact
While the Scopes Trial created a national sensation, the outcome was far from clear. The publicity may have stopped some states from enacting similar laws, but anti-evolutionary laws were passed in many other states. Teachers in Tennessee in the 1960s were still required to sign a pledge that they would not teach evolution. The teaching of evolutionary science at the high school level actually declined after the Scopes trial. Many states passed laws similar to the Tennessee anti-evolutionary law and most biology textbooks omitted any mention of Darwin or evolution. Evolution did not regain a significant place in biology textbooks until the Soviet Union‘s launch of Sputnik in 1957 led to a new interest in science education in the United States.
In 1968 the U.S. Supreme Court finally overturned the laws that had banned the teaching of evolution. The Court ruled that banning the teaching of evolution “for the sole reason that it is deemed in conflict with a particular religious doctrine” was unconstitutional. Scientists assumed that the issue had been settled, but the rise of Protestant Fundamentalism and “televangelists” (television preachers) led to a vigorous new campaign against the teaching of evolution. Opponents of evolution launched a campaign to require “equal time” for the teaching of Special Creationism whenever Darwinian evolution was discussed, demanding that teachers refer to Special Creationism as science and describe evolution as a theory. The success of this approach was clear when Texas rejected biology textbooks that included evolution. Publishers rushed to eliminate or water down references to evolution.
Challenging state “Equal Time” laws, scientists and philosophers of science have tried to explain what science is and how one can distinguish science from religion. Science has the following characteristics:
1) science works upon a foundation of natural law—it cannot explain away anomalies as “miracles”;
2) science makes predictions by inference about what might occur; and
3) scientists acknowledge the fact that their predictions could be wrong.
After considering such arguments in a case brought to a U.S. district court in Arkansas, Judge William Overton on January 5, 1982, ruled against the Arkansas Equal Time Creation Science law on the following grounds:
1) Creation Science is religion;
2) to teach religion in the public schools is illegal; and
3) Creation Science is not science.
The Louisiana Balanced Treatment for Creation-Science and Evolution-Science Act was examined by the U. S. Supreme Court in 1986. Again, the court ruled against Creation Science. Scientists testified that the case was crucial to the future of basic science education in the United States. They argued that science education should accurately portray the premises and processes of science and the current state of scientific knowledge. Science education, scientists maintained, was damaged where the curriculum called for teaching religious ideas as science. Teaching creationism, in turn, established a false conflict between science and religion and created confusion about the nature of scientific inquiry. Future progress in science, medicine, and technology, they continued, would suffer if Americans were not encouraged to discriminate between natural phenomena and supernatural articles of faith. Moreover, the Louisiana act created confusion about the way in which scientists used the terms “fact” and “theory.” A “fact” to scientists is a property of a natural phenomenon and a “theory” is a system of knowledge that explains a body of facts. These definitions permeate all fields of scientific endeavor and are no less relevant to discussions of the origin of the universe and life than to any other area of research. A review of the process and vocabulary of science will confirm that the essence of a scientific “theory” does not vary from discipline to discipline. The Louisiana act’s “fact-theory” distinction reflected the belief system of certain Fundamentalist sects.
The Court held that the terms “creation” and “creation-science” embody the principles of a particular religious sect or group of sects. It concluded that the legislature intended Louisiana’s public school teachers to offer students evidence that mankind and the universe were brought into existence by a divine Creator. In other words, the statute called for teachers to balance evolution against a particular religious belief. The biology textbooks recommended by advocates of Creation-Science included statements such as “the age of the earth can be measured in thousands rather than millions or billions of years” and “the dinosaurs were directly created at the same time as men, so that the humans and dinosaurs did live together for many years. However…the dinosaurs died in the great Flood.”
The Court concluded that Creation Science as presented in the Louisiana case was religion, but it suggested that the teaching of any scientific views on origins would be acceptable. Therefore, Special Creationists saw the decision as opening up the possibility of getting creationism into the biology classroom as a “science” if creationist texts were carefully rewritten to provide scientific evidence. For example, the creationist claim for a young earth leads to the conclusion that dinosaurs and humans must have co-existed. In support of this assertion, creationists often claim to have found footprints of man and dinosaurs together.
Most polls say that the majority of Americans support the position that schools should “teach both sides.”Scientists object to this and in reply ask whether we should also teach Aristotle’s physics, in which the earth is located at the center of the universe. Community pressure generally favors Creation Science and “balanced treatment,” but some of the major opponents of creationism are actually theologians from mainstream religious denominations. They say that because Special Creation is religion and not science it should be taught in comparative religion courses and not in biology classes. For example, Catholic schools have accepted the teaching of evolution since the 1950s. Moreover, in 1996, after many years of deliberation, Pope John Paul II declared that evolution did not conflict with Catholic doctrine.
Anti-evolutionary activism has grown in the United States since 1980.Theological and social factors contributed to the phenomenal popularity of scientific creationism in the late twentieth century as Americans became increasingly suspicious of science. The battles between evolutionism and creationism have raised many questions about the separation of church and state, the teaching of controversial subjects in public schools, and the ability of scientists to communicate with the public. Many scientists find believing that the theory of evolution still needs defending to be impossible, but public opinions polls show that the majority of Americans do not accept the science of evolution, especially with respect to human origins. Many people do not like to believe that they are the product of a long series of natural events rather than the products of wise design.
While details regarding the theory of evolution have been refined in light of new scientific discoveries, evolution’s general principles have remained unaltered. Evolution, moreover, remains unsurpassed in its ability to provide a detailed explanation for both the diversity and the history of life on Earth.
The controversy over evolution proves more clearly than virtually any other episode in the history of science that science has had a profound impact on society and human thought. In no other case have the offshoots of a science created more social challenges than evolution. At the end of the twentieth century, many science educators are convinced that the debate over the teaching of evolution will likely take many forms in the future.

What came first, life or evolution? Self-replicating molecules demonstrate basic principles of Darwinian evolution
Which came first the TRUTH or the LIE?
This image shows how a divergent chemical mixture can ‘evolve’ into a mixture of species, or be dominated by just one. Credit: Otto Lab / University of Groningen
We know that Darwinian evolution acts on all forms of life, but does evolution act on non-living materials as well?
In a paper, titled “Competitive exclusion among self-replicating molecules curtails the tendency of chemistry to diversify” published in Nature Chemistry on 29 November, Sijbren Otto, Professor of Systems Chemistry at the University of Groningen, demonstrates that key principles of Darwinian evolution, such as survival of the fittest, also manifest themselves in simple non-living systems.
Otto and his team used a system of three different self-replicating molecules, that, under the right conditions, grow and divide spontaneously. When set up to compete against each other, all requiring the same chemical building block to grow and replicate, one of them eventually outcompeted the others.
This is an example of “survival of the fittest.” However, when they required different building blocks, all replicators were able to “survive” and co-exist. This resembles how species co-exist in different ecological niches.
These results demonstrate that the basic principles of Darwinian evolution can act on non-living materials, suggesting that evolution predates life. The next step is to investigate where Darwinian evolution can lead such non-living materials.
“This work sheds new light on how life may have emerged from non-living materials and marks an important step in the synthesis of new forms of life in the laboratory.”

Researchers have taken a significant step in uncovering how life began on Earth, introducing a fresh perspective on the complex journey from chemistry to biology.
The work centers on artificial coacervate droplets—tiny molecular assemblies that may bridge the gap between non-living molecules and living cells. Their findings offer profound insights into the origins of life, sparking interest and debates across the scientific community.
The Origins of Life and Protocells
The quest to unravel how life arose from simple molecules has intrigued scientists for nearly a century. Early theories proposed in the 1920s by Oparin and Haldane described primitive cells, or “protocells,” as key players in life’s emergence. These protocells were thought to form spontaneously from organic molecules through a process called liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS).
Protocells, represented as coacervate droplets, displayed unique behaviors resembling life, such as organizing key biomolecules like RNA, lipids, and peptides. However, a critical function remained elusive: the ability to self-reproduce. Without this capacity, scientists struggled to explain how these primitive molecular assemblies evolved into living organisms. (no worries…nanobots to the rescue)
Recent advances (Like CRISPR, AI and NANO TECHNOLOGY) have reignited interest in these structures. Studies demonstrated that coacervate droplets exhibit behaviors such as communication and predator-prey interactions, mimicking characteristics of cellular life. (I don’t think predator-prey interactions had anything to do with how our bodies were formed.) However, no experimental evidence confirmed their ability to undergo recursive self-reproduction—a hallmark of life. (Because life did not self evolve. It was created)
A Japanese research team led by Muneyuki Matsuo and Kensuke Kurihara aimed to solve this long-standing mystery.
Their study, published in Nature Communications, marks the first experimental demonstration of protocells capable of self-reproduction. The team constructed droplets via LLPS using amino acid thioesters—a class of molecules inspired by the “thioester world” hypothesis.
Amino Acids BenefitsAmino acid benefits are simple to name because, without amino acids, we cannot exist. Every anatomical and physiological feature of a living organism is made possible through the existence of amino acids. |
So, they are proving that life began from nothing, but they are starting out with the building blocks of life as we know it. |
The droplets were synthesized in room-temperature water at atmospheric pressure, replicating plausible prebiotic conditions. Amino acid thioesters condensed into peptides, which spontaneously formed droplets. Feeding these droplets with additional monomers allowed them to grow and divide in a steady cycle, while maintaining their size and increasing their number.
Furthermore, the droplets displayed resilience. When nucleic acids and lipids were present, the concentrated nucleic acids localized to the droplets’ inner boundary, stabilizing their structure. This behavior mimics essential biological processes, offering a potential link between prebiotic chemistry and cellular biology.
Droplets as the Missing Link
“This study may serve to explain the emergence of the first living organisms on primordial Earth,” Matsuo explained. The findings suggest that coacervate droplets could represent a critical evolutionary step, bridging the gap between molecular assemblies and life.
Unlike viruses and molecular replicators, these droplets demonstrate self-reproduction—a defining feature of life. They also highlight the importance of periodic environmental stimuli in enabling recursive proliferation. For example, Earth’s light-dark cycles influenced cyanobacterial cell division, while environmental perturbations facilitated proliferation in early bacterial forms. What a crock of mumbo-jumbo. Designed to intimidate and impress you. IT iS BS!
“This discovery provides a plausible mechanism for how life could have emerged from a mixture of simple organic molecules,” commented Dr. Ramanarayanan Krishnamurthy from the Scripps Research Institute.
The team’s work has significant implications for understanding not only the origins of life on Earth but also the potential for life elsewhere in the universe. By demonstrating that life-like properties can emerge under simple, prebiotic conditions, the findings open doors to studying life’s possibilities on planets with similar environments.
Future research aims to refine the experimental platform, further exploring how amino acid derivatives transition into primitive cells. The researchers hope to unravel the evolutionary pathways that led from molecular assemblies to the earliest organisms.
The discovery also underscores the importance of technology in origins-of-life research. Techniques such as molecular dynamics simulations and microfluidic devices have enabled precise studies of molecule behavior under early Earth-like conditions. These advancements, combined with Matsuo and Kurihara’s breakthrough, push the boundaries of what we understand about life’s beginnings. LOL… let me see them create a planet full of life with no assistance from technology! LOL
“Our results suggest that droplets became evolvable molecular aggregates—one of which became our common ancestor,” said Matsuo. “We hope our work inspires others to explore the mysteries of the origins of life.”
A New Era in Understanding Life’s Beginnings
The journey from chemistry to biology is far from simple, but each breakthrough illuminates another piece of the puzzle. The self-reproducing coacervate droplets represent a leap forward, offering tangible evidence of how primitive molecular assemblies could proliferate and evolve.
This discovery challenges long-held assumptions and presents a new framework for understanding life’s origins. As the researchers continue to investigate, the answers may not only redefine humanity’s understanding of its own beginnings but also inform the search for life beyond Earth.

Newly discovered fossils push the origins of oxygenic photosynthesis back 1.75 billion years, highlighting cyanobacteria’s role in Earth’s evolution.
The story of life on Earth is deeply intertwined with the evolution of photosynthesis, a process that transformed the planet’s environment and paved the way for complex life. At the heart of this story are cyanobacteria, ancient microorganisms whose innovation in oxygenic photosynthesis marked a turning point in Earth’s history.
Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants and certain other organisms transform light energy (from the SUN) into chemical energy12345. During photosynthesis, (Sun)light energy is captured and used to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds |
Again, the SUN, moon and stars are part of Creation. So are plants which are a big part of photosynthesis. Bacteria is also a living thing. A life form which had to come from somewhere. |
A recent study has unveiled the oldest direct evidence of oxygenic photosynthesis structures, preserved within fossilized bacteria found in Australia and Canada. These fossils, dated to 1.75 billion years ago, have shifted our understanding of the timeline for this life-sustaining process, pushing its origins back by at least 1.2 billion years.
This discovery sheds light on the evolutionary leap that allowed cyanobacteria to harness sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to produce oxygen—a breakthrough that fundamentally altered Earth’s atmosphere and ecosystems.
The Origins of Oxygenic Photosynthesis
Photosynthesis, in its earliest form, likely emerged around 3.5 billion years ago as anoxygenic photosynthesis, a process that did not produce oxygen. Cyanobacteria were among the first organisms to transition to oxygenic photosynthesis, using specialized cell structures called thylakoid membranes.
These dense, lamellar membranes of fats and proteins serve as the site where light energy is converted into chemical energy, releasing oxygen as a byproduct.
The appearance of oxygen-producing cyanobacteria triggered the Great Oxygenation Event (GOE) approximately 2.4 billion years ago. This event marked a dramatic shift in Earth’s atmospheric composition, enabling the diversification of aerobic life and laying the groundwork for complex ecosystems.
Over time, cyanobacteria became the ancestors of chloroplasts, the organelles responsible for photosynthesis in modern plants and algae.
Dr. Emmanuelle Javaux, a co-author of the recent study from the University of Liège in Belgium, explains, “Their production of oxygen profoundly modified the chemistry of Earth’s oceans and atmosphere, and the evolution of the biosphere, including complex life.”
Fossilized Evidence of Ancient Photosynthesis
The study provides the earliest direct evidence of thylakoid membranes, discovered in bacteria fossils from the McDermott Formation in Australia and the Grassy Bay Formation in Arctic Canada

These fossils represent a significant leap from previous records, which only documented thylakoids in fossils 150 to 550 million years old. The fossils were examined through meticulous techniques involving resin embedding, ultra-thin slicing, and electron microscopy.
Despite their immense scientific value, fossilized bacteria are rare due to their soft-bodied nature, which makes preservation challenging. Dr. Robert Blankenship, a professor at Washington University in St. Louis, notes, “Soft-bodied organisms like bacteria don’t preserve well in the fossil record, and their internal structures are even harder to detect.”
The preserved thylakoid membranes, no wider than a human hair, provide a unique glimpse into the cellular architecture of these ancient microorganisms. Their discovery highlights the persistence of cyanobacteria’s photosynthetic mechanisms, which are strikingly similar to those found in plants today.
The rise of cyanobacteria and their ability to produce oxygen marked a turning point in Earth’s evolutionary history. The GOE led to the development of oxygen-rich niches that supported the diversification of aerobic life, including eukaryotes. This transition also catalyzed the evolution of photosynthetic protists, multicellular algae, and land plants.
However, many aspects of this evolutionary timeline remain unresolved. Did oxygenic photosynthesis predate the GOE, or did it emerge during or after this transformative event? Blankenship suggests that oxygen production might have begun earlier, with levels taking millions of years to accumulate in the atmosphere.
Implications for Life Beyond Earth
The implications of this discovery extend beyond understanding Earth’s history. By studying the origins of photosynthesis, scientists aim to identify potential biosignatures on other planets. In collaboration with NASA, Blankenship has explored how photosynthesis might appear under stars emitting different wavelengths of light than our sun.
This research underscores the universal significance of photosynthesis as a life-enabling process. As Javaux emphasizes, “These findings provide valuable insights into the evolution of complex life on Earth and the potential for photosynthesis elsewhere in the universe.”
While the discovery of ancient thylakoid membranes represents a significant milestone, questions about the evolutionary pathways of photosynthesis persist. Further studies of older microfossils, using advanced techniques, could unlock additional secrets of this pivotal process.
The fossil record may hold the answers to whether oxygen-producing photosynthesis emerged before, during, or after the GOE. As scientists continue to uncover these microscopic remnants of ancient life, the story of Earth’s transformation into a habitable world becomes increasingly clear.

These meteorites would have been the fractured remains of early “unmelted asteroids,” a type of planetesimal. Planetesimals are small rocky bodies that served as the main building blocks of the solar system’s rocky planets, including Earth. They were formed around 4.6 billion years ago in the disk of dust and gas around the infant sun as particles around our young star began to stick together, accreting more mass and making progressively larger bodies.
“One of the most fundamental questions on the origin of life is where the materials we need for life to evolve came from,” study team leader Rayssa Martins, from the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cambridge in England, said in a statement.
“If we can understand how these materials came to be on Earth, it might give us clues to how life originated here and how it might emerge elsewhere,” Martins added.

LUCA, the first living thing on Earth, was a bacterium
LIFE SCIENCES.
A Spanish research group proposes a new vision of the origin of life.
Scientists believe that all living things on the planet are descended from a single organism known as LUCA (Last Ultimate Common Ancestor). He was the first to premiere, billions of years ago, all the physical and chemical processes necessary for “life” as we know it. But biologists have long debated what LUCA’s true nature was, how it originated, what it looked like, or where it lived.
Origin, Meaning, And History Of LucaLuca is the Italian derivative of the Latin Lucas, which in turn was derived from the Greek Loukas, meaning ‘bringer of light’ or ‘the bright one.’ It could also be a derivative of the Latin ‘lucus,’ meaning ‘sacred wood.’ The name may also mean ‘the man from Luciana,’ traditionally used for people from the Luciana district of Italy… The name Luca gained popularity in the Middle Ages and has maintained its popularity through the years. Though a predominantly Italian name and famous in Europe, Luca also found popularity in North America and Latin America. It burst into popularity in the US after 2000 and has made its mark since. |
Lucifer |
So, now “Science” is basically tell you that all living things on the planet are descended from Lucifer/Satan/the Devil, The Deceiver/The Adversary/The Enemy of your Soul/The Anti-Christ/The Joker/The Hypocrite/The Thief. |
spacer
Now, a team from the Andalusian Center for Developmental Biology (CABD) believes they know the identity of the mysterious ‘father’ of life. According to a study published in ‘Molecular Biology and Evolution’, LUCA was a bacterium. From it, belonging to the phylum Planctomycetes, diverged the organisms of the other two known domains in the tree of life: Archaea (archaea, unicellular prokaryotic microorganisms lacking a nucleus but different from bacteria) and Eukaryota (eukaryotes, multicellular organisms, like ourselves). His hypothesis is very different from what was believed so far. If they are right, their conclusions would be a revolution in evolutionary biology.
Archaean (adj.) |
prokaryote (n.) |
eukaryotic (adj.) |
You got that? So Lucifer is the FATHER OF LIFE, the ANCIENT OF DAYS, THE FIRST, THE BEGINNING, THE RULER, THE GOOD KERNAL OF LIFE. ORIGINATOR OF WELL DEFINED CELLS. |
spacer
Living organisms can be divided into two types: prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Prokaryotic organisms, such as bacteria, are the ‘simplest’ forms of life, small pockets of molecules with little internal organization. In contrast, eukaryotes are more complex, with larger cells organized into several compartments, including the mitochondria that provide energy and the nucleus that contains the genetic material. How one originated from the other, and how they evolved, is one of the biggest questions in biology.
“Darwin taught us that we are all related through our ancestors, that humans and monkeys have a common ancestor, that birds, reptiles and mammals are related,” says Devos. Darwin’s thoughts have inspired many researchers trying to reconstruct the first cell, the first ancestor of life, or the last universal common ancestor, i.e., LUCA.
From two or three ancestral domains…
At the end of the last century, Carl Woese discovered archaea, a third domain of life within prokaryotes. Archaea resemble bacteria but are closer to eukaryotes in terms of organization, maintenance, and expression of their genetic material. “Determining the relationships between the three domains of life has fascinated biologists ever since,” Devos says.
Recently, a group of archaea, Asgard, has been discovered, the prokaryotic organisms closest to eukaryotes. The most recent view is that eukaryotes have evolved from an archaea that has incorporated a bacterium.
“This idea comes from the work of Lynn Margulis who defended the ancestral bacterial nature of mitochondria. Taking into account this current of thought, it was proposed that there are two ancestral domains, Archaea and Bacteria, both prokaryotes, and the third domain, Eukaryota, which has evolved from the fusion of the previous two,” explains the researcher. It is thus a vision of two ancestral domains of the tree of life.
… to only one: Bacteria.
Damien Devos and his team have dedicated more than ten years of study to the bacteria of the phylum Planctomycetes. “These bacteria are very particular, they have characteristics that are not typically found in bacteria but are sometimes associated with organisms in the other two domains, Archaea and Eukaryota. Among these characteristics, we must highlight its developed endomembrane system, its condensed DNA, the presence of sterol in the membrane – in some – or membrane-lining proteins, among others,” explains Devos.
Thus, these scientists propose that there is only one ancestral domain, Bacteria. One of these bacteria, belonging to the phylum Planctomycetes, began to diverge and develop different characteristics. Thus, the CABD scientific team proposes, based on these characteristics and published knowledge, that these bacteria are our oldest ancestors.
Damien Devos calls for a radical change in the relationships between the three domains of the tree of life, where evolutionary relationships are taken into account. “In this way, the vision of evolution and of these groups changes dramatically, where the branch that leads to the appearance of eukaryotes and archaea is derived from the Planctomycetes bacteria,” says the CABD researcher. This proposal is based on recent data on ribosomal protein phylogeny published by Tom Cavalier Smith, one of the most important evolutionary biologists of recent times.
“This new knowledge has important implications with respect to what was established in the area,” says Devos, who adds that “it is necessary to explore the biodiversity between the Planctomycetes bacteria and the common ancestor of eukaryotes and archaea, this being fundamental to better understand our evolution.” In addition, Devos adds, “you can no longer say that bacteria are simple and have not evolved. Yes, we ourselves, and everything that can be seen with the eye, are the result of the evolution of bacteria.” Source: abc.es.

LUCA’s Complex Biology
Biologists use the DNA sequences of modern organisms to reconstruct the Tree of Life and to figure out the likely characteristics of the most recent common ancestor of all living things — the “trunk” of the Tree of Life.
All life forms, no matter how simple or complex, use the same basic genetic code. The nucleotides composing RNA are universal. Whereas, if multiple ancestors had independently evolved, we would expect to see significant variations in the genetic codes across different forms of life.
The same 20 standard amino acids have been used in proteins throughout the history of life on Earth. This set was likely “canonicalized” or standardized during early evolution. Before this, smaller amino acid sets gradually expanded as organisms developed new synthetic proofreading and coding abilities. Moreover, all living things use adenosine triphosphate, or ATP, as energy to power their cells.
All of these different lines of evidence, drawing from genetic, biochemical, and fossil data, point towards the same conclusion. It seems that all life on Earth can trace its origin to LUCA. Perhaps other types of life forms with radically different biology appeared before our LUCA, but they didn’t survive.
From Bacteria to Humans: Tracing the Tree of Life Back to LUCA
While LUCA’s exact form is still a mystery, researchers suggest it was a simple cell with key components found in all life forms today, such as ribosomal proteins and ATP synthase.

Protein design aims to create customized antibodies for therapies, biosensors for diagnostics, or enzymes for chemical reactions. An international research team has now developed a method for designing large new proteins better than before and producing them with the desired properties in the laboratory.
Whether as building blocks, transport systems, enzymes, or antibodies, proteins play a vital role in our bodies. Researchers are, therefore, trying to recreate them or to design so-called de novo proteins that do not occur in nature. Such artificial proteins are designed to bind to certain viruses or transport drugs, for example. Scientists are increasingly using machine learning to design them.
Recently, advances in this field were honored with the Nobel Prize in Chemistry: This year’s Nobel Prize went to David Baker, a pioneer of de novo protein design, and to the developers of the software Alphafold2 Demis Hassabis and John Jumper. This software makes it possible to predict protein structures on the computer with high accuracy.
Gradient descent is a common method for model optimization. In a step-by-step process, it can be used to identify deviations from the desired target function and adjust the parameters until the optimal result is achieved.
In protein design, gradient descent can be used to compare the structure of new proteins predicted by AlphaFold2 with the desired protein structure. This allows scientists to further optimize their newly designed amino acid chain and the resulting structure. The latter largely determines the stability and function of the protein and depends on subtle energetic interactions.
Virtual superposition of the building blocks
The new method makes it possible to design large new proteins better than before and to tailor them to the desired properties, for example, to bind precisely to other proteins. Their design process differs from previous approaches in several ways.
“We have designed the process for new proteins so that we initially ignore the limits of what is physically possible. Usually, only one of the 20 possible building blocks is assumed at each point of the amino acid chain. Instead, we use a variant in which all possibilities are virtually superimposed,” says Christopher Frank, doctoral candidate at the Chair of Biomolecular Nanotechnology and first author of the study.
This virtual superposition cannot be directly translated into an actually producible protein. But it allows the protein to be iteratively optimized. “We improve the arrangement of the amino acids in several iterations until the new protein is very close to the desired structure,” says Frank. This optimized structure is then used to determine the amino acid sequence that can actually be assembled into a protein in the laboratory.
The crucial test: How do the predictions hold up in real life?
The ultimate test for all newly designed proteins: does the actual structure correspond to the predicted construct and the desired function? Using the new method, the team designed more than 100 proteins virtually, produced them in the laboratory and tested them experimentally. “We were able to show that the structures that we designed are very close to the structures that are actually produced,” says Frank.
Using their new method, they were able to produce proteins consisting of up to 1,000 amino acids. “This brings us closer to the size of antibodies, and—just as with antibodies—we can then integrate several desired functions into such a protein,” explains Dietz. “These could, for example, be motifs for recognizing and suppressing pathogens.”

What does it mean that some trust in chariots (Psalm 20:7)?
Psalm 20:7 is a well-known verse that demonstrates King David’s unwavering trust in God: “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” During David’s era and beyond, chariots and horses were a measure of military strength. In more contemporary terms, the verse might be rendered “Some trust in their armed forces and nuclear weapons, but we trust in the name of the Lord.”In ancient times, the strength of a kingdom was gauged by its possession of “chariots and horses.” Hence, it was customary for kings to put their trust in their military resources. For example, King Solomon bolstered his strength by amassing “chariots and horses; he had fourteen hundred chariots and twelve thousand horses, which he kept in the chariot cities and also with him in Jerusalem” (1 Kings 10:26). Pharaoh of Egypt and King Sennacherib of Assyria are other biblical examples of rulers with large armies. These two kings are especially significant as God showcased His supremacy over their military powers (Exodus 14:6–14; 2 Kings 19). Grasping the significance of “chariots and horses” adds depth to David’s words. Though a courageous warrior himself, David relied on the Lord to give him victory.
Although modern nations don’t depend on chariots and horses, and regular individuals lack access to military resources, the metaphorical implication of this verse holds true. It is still possible to fall into the trap of relying solely on human strength, material possessions, and intelligence. This is evident sometimes in elections of political candidates, when people might assume that a certain candidate or party will usher in a utopia, disregarding the God-factor (see Proverbs 21:1; Daniel 2:21; 4:17). The wealthy may rely on their billions, intellectuals on their brilliance, and the physically strong on their bulk. Humans have been geared toward self-rule right from the Garden of Eden, and even Christians aren’t immune (Genesis 3:4).
Given our inclination to play the role of our own gods, Psalm 20:7 should be both a challenge and a proclamation for believers. In challenging times when others might tap into their limited human resources, we have a heavenly Father to turn to for assistance (Psalm 18:2; 46:1; Hebrews 4:16). He is willing to grant us wisdom (James 1:5), guide us through our troubles (Isaiah 41:10; Psalm 23:4), and liberate us from all that would entangle (Psalm 34:17; Matthew 6:13; 2 Timothy 4:18).
We can extend the concept of trusting in chariots and horses to the matter of salvation. Various religions and belief systems advocate for salvation through good deeds and obedience to religious law. Even atheists and skeptics rely on their perceived goodness, hoping that, if God exists, their good deeds will suffice to secure salvation. However, Christianity is unique, as the gospel invites us to trust in the person and work of Christ. As Jesus Himself promised, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
In all aspects of life, may we unite with King David in professing our unwavering faith in God, refuse to be numbered with those who “trust in chariots and horses,” and pray for the grace to remain steadfast.

Trust (social science)
Trust is the belief that another person will do what is expected. It brings with it a willingness for one party (the trustor) to become vulnerable to another party (the trustee), on the presumption that the trustee will act in ways that benefit the trustor.[1][2][3] In addition, the trustor does not have control over the actions of the trustee.[1] Scholars distinguish between generalized trust (also known as social trust), which is the extension of trust to a relatively large circle of unfamiliar others, and particularized trust, which is contingent on a specific situation or a specific relationship.[1]
As the trustor is uncertain about the outcome of the trustee’s actions, the trustor can only develop and evaluate expectations. Such expectations are formed with a view to the motivations of the trustee, dependent on their characteristics, the situation, and their interaction.[4][page needed] The uncertainty stems from the risk of failure or harm to the trustor if the trustee does not behave as desired.
In the social sciences, the subtleties of trust are a subject of ongoing research. In sociology and psychology, the degree to which one party trusts another is a measure of belief in the honesty, fairness, or benevolence of another party. The term “confidence” is more appropriate for a belief in the competence of the other party.[5][6][citation needed] A failure in trust may be forgiven more easily if it is interpreted as a failure of competence rather than a lack of benevolence or honesty.[7][page needed] In economics, trust is often conceptualized as reliability in transactions. In all cases, trust is a heuristic decision rule, allowing a person to deal with complexities that would require unrealistic effort in rational reasoning.[8
Sociology
Sociology claims trust is one of several social constructs; an element of the social reality.[15] Other constructs frequently discussed together with trust include control, confidence, risk, meaning and power. Trust is attributable to relationships between social actors, both individuals and groups (social systems). Sociology is concerned with the position and role of trust in social systems. Interest in trust has grown significantly since the early 1980s, from the early works of Luhmann,[16] Barber,[17] and Giddens[18] (see Sztompka[19] for a more detailed overview). This growth of interest in trust has been stimulated by ongoing changes in society, known as late modernity and post-modernity.
Sviatoslav contended that society needs trust because it increasingly finds itself operating at the edge between confidence in what is known from everyday experience and contingency of new possibilities. Without trust, one should always consider all contingent possibilities, leading to paralysis by analysis.[20] Trust acts as a decisional heuristic, allowing the decision-maker to overcome bounded rationality[21] and process what would otherwise be an excessively complex situation. Trust can be seen as a bet on one of many contingent futures, specifically, the one that appears to deliver the greatest benefits. Once the bet is decided (i.e. trust is granted), the trustor suspends his or her disbelief, and the possibility of a negative course of action is not considered at all. Hence trust acts as a reducing agent of social complexity, allowing for cooperation.[22]
Sociology tends to focus on two distinct views: the macro view of social systems, and a micro view of individual social actors (where it borders with social psychology). Views on trust follow this dichotomy. On one side, the systemic role of trust can be discussed with a certain disregard to the psychological complexity underpinning individual trust. The behavioral approach to trust is usually assumed[23][page needed] while actions of social actors are measurable, allowing for statistical modelling of trust. This systemic approach can be contrasted[24] with studies on social actors and their decision-making process, in anticipation that understanding of such a process will explain (and allow to model) the emergence of trust.
Sociology acknowledges that the contingency of the future creates a dependency between social actors and, specifically, that the trustor becomes dependent on the trustee. Trust is seen as one of the possible methods to resolve such a dependency, being an attractive alternative to control.[25] Trust is valuable if the trustee is much more powerful than the trustor, yet the trustor is under social obligation to support the trustee.[26]
Modern information technologies have not only facilitated the transition to a post-modern society but have also challenged traditional views on trust. Information systems research has identified that people have come to trust in technology via two primary constructs: The first consists of human-like constructs, including benevolence, honesty, and competence, whilst the second employs system-like constructs, such as usefulness, reliability, and functionality.[27] The discussion surrounding the relationship between information technologies and trust is still in progress as research remains in its infant stages.[may be outdated as of August 2023]
High- and low-trust societies

Psychology
In psychology, trust is believing that the trusted person will do what is expected. According to the psychoanalyst Erik Erikson, development of basic trust is the first state of psychosocial development occurring, or failing, during the first two years of life. Success results in feelings of security and optimism, while failure leads towards an orientation of insecurity and mistrust[29] possibly resulting in attachment disorders.[30] A person’s dispositional tendency to trust others can be considered a personality trait and as such is one of the strongest predictors of subjective well-being.[31] Trust increases subjective well-being because it enhances the quality of one’s interpersonal relationships; happy people are skilled at fostering good relationships.[32]
Trust is integral to the idea of social influence: it is easier to influence or persuade someone who is trusting. The notion of trust is increasingly adopted to predict acceptance of behaviors by others, institutions (e.g. government agencies), and objects such as machines. Yet once again, perceptions of honesty, competence and value similarity[33] (slightly similar to benevolence) are essential.[clarification needed]
There are three forms of trust commonly studied in psychology:
- Trust is being vulnerable to someone even when they are trustworthy.
- Trustworthiness are the characteristics or behaviors of one person that inspire positive expectations in another person.
- Trust propensity is the tendency to make oneself vulnerable to others in general.[34] Research suggests that this general tendency can change over time in response to key life events.[35]
Once trust is lost by violation of one of these three determinants, it is very hard to regain. There is asymmetry in the building versus destruction of trust.
Research has been conducted into the social implications of trust, for instance:
- Barbara Misztal attempted to combine all notions of trust.[36] She described three functions of trust: it makes social life predictable, it creates a sense of community, and it makes it easier for people to work together.
- In the context of sexual trust, Riki Robbins describes four stages.[37] These consist of perfect trust, damaged trust, devastated trust, and restored trust.[further explanation needed][38]
- In the context of information theory, Ed Gerck defines and contrasts trust with[clarification needed] social functions such as power, surveillance, and accountability.[39]
- From a social identity perspective, the propensity to trust strangers (see in-group favoritism) arises from the mutual knowledge of a shared group membership,[40][41] stereotypes,[41] or the need to maintain the group’s positive distinctiveness.[42]
Despite the centrality of trust to the positive functioning of people and relationships, very little is known about how and why trust evolves, is maintained, and is destroyed.[43]
One factor that enhances trust among people is facial resemblance. Experimenters who digitally manipulated facial resemblance in a two-person sequential trust game found evidence that people have more trust in a partner who has similar facial features.[44] Facial resemblance also decreased sexual desire for a partner. In a series of tests, digitally manipulated faces were presented to subjects who evaluated them for attractiveness within a long-term or short-term relationship. The results showed that within the context of a short-term relationship dependent on sexual desire, similar facial features caused a decrease in desire. Within the context of a long-term relationship, which is dependent on trust, similar facial features increased a person’s attractiveness. This suggests that facial resemblance and trust have great effects on relationships.[45]
Interpersonal trust literature[43] investigates “trust-diagnostic situations”: situations that test partners’ abilities to act in the best interests of the other person or the relationship while rejecting a conflicting option which is merely in their self-interest.[46] Trust-diagnostic situations occur throughout everyday life, though they can also be deliberately engineered by people who want to test the current level of trust in a relationship.[43]
A low-trust relationship is one in which a person has little confidence their partner is truly concerned about them or the relationship.[47] People in low trust relationships tend to make distress-maintaining attributions[jargon][48] whereby they place their greatest focus on the consequences of their partner’s negative behavior, and any impacts of positive actions are minimized. This feeds into the overarching notion that the person’s partner is uninterested in the relationship, and any positive acts on their part are met with skepticism, leading to further negative outcomes.[47]
Distrusting people may miss opportunities for trusting relationships. Someone subject to an abusive childhood may have been deprived of any evidence that trust is warranted in future relationships.[4][page needed] An important key to treating sexual victimization of a child is the rebuilding of trust between parent and child. Failure by adults to validate that sexual abuse occurred contributes to the child’s difficulty in trusting self and others.[49] A child’s trust can also be affected by the erosion of the marriage of their parents.[50] Children of divorce do not exhibit less trust in mothers, partners, spouses, friends, and associates than their peers of intact families. The impact of parental divorce is limited to trust in the father.[51]
People may trust non-human agents. For instance, people may trust animals,[52] the scientific process,[53] and social machines[clarification needed]. Trust helps create a social contract that allows humans and domestic animals to live together.[54] Trust in the scientific process is associated with increased trust in innovations such as biotechnology.[53] When it comes to trust in social machines, people are more willing to trust intelligent machines with humanoid morphologies[55] and female cues,[56] when they are focused on tasks (versus socialization),[57] and when they behave morally well.[58][57] More generally, they may be trusted as a function of the “machine heuristic”—a mental shortcut with which people assume that machines are less biased, more accurate, and more reliable than people[59]—such that people may sometimes trust a robot more than a person.[60]
People are disposed to trust and to judge the trustworthiness of other people or groups—for instance, in developing relationships with potential mentors. One example would be as part of interprofessional work in the referral pathway from an emergency department to a hospital ward.[61] Another would be building knowledge on whether new practices, people, and things introduced into our lives are indeed accountable or worthy of investing confidence and trust in. This process is captured by the empirically grounded construct of “Relational Integration” within Normalization Process Theory.[62] This can be traced in neuroscience terms to the neurobiological structure and activity of a human brain.[citation needed] Some studies indicate that trust can be altered by the application of oxytocin.[63]
Social identity approach
The social identity approach explains a person’s trust in strangers as a function of their group-based stereotypes or in-group favoring behaviors which they base on salient group memberships. With regard to ingroup favoritism, people generally think well of strangers but expect better treatment from in-group members in comparison to out-group members. This greater expectation translates into a propensity to trust a member of the in-group more than a member of the out-group.[40][42][64] It is only advantageous for one to form such expectations of an in-group stranger if the stranger also knows one’s own group membership.[64]
The social identity approach has been empirically investigated. Researchers have employed allocator studies[jargon] to understand group-based trust in strangers.[40][41][64][65] They[ambiguous] may be operationalized[specify] as unilateral or bilateral relationships of exchange. General social categories such as university affiliation, course majors, and even ad-hoc groups have been used to distinguish between in-group and out-group members. In unilateral studies of trust, the participant is asked to choose between envelopes containing money that an in-group or out-group member previously allocated.[64] Participants have no prior or future opportunities for interaction, thereby testing Brewer’s notion that group membership is sufficient to bring about group-based trust and hence cooperation.[66] Participants could expect an amount ranging from nothing to the maximum value an allocator could give out. Bilateral studies of trust have employed an investment game devised by Berg and colleagues in which people choose to give a portion or none of their money to another.[67] Any amount given would be tripled and the receiver would then decide whether they would return the favor by giving money back to the sender. This was meant to test trusting behavior on the sender’s part and the receiver’s eventual trustworthiness.[42][64]
Empirical research demonstrates that when group membership is salient to both parties, trust is granted more readily to in-group members than out-group members.[41][64][65] This occurs even when the in-group’s stereotype was comparatively less positive than the out-group’s (e.g. psychology versus nursing majors)[clarification needed],[41] in the absence of personal identity cues[clarification needed],[42] and when participants had the option of a sure sum of money (i.e. in essence opting out of the need to trust a stranger to gain some monetary reward).[40] When only the recipient[clarification needed] was made aware of group membership, trust[specify] becomes reliant upon group stereotypes.[41][42] The group with the more positive stereotype was trusted (e.g. one’s university affiliation over another’s)[42] even over that of the in-group (e.g. nursing over psychology majors).[41]
Another explanation for in-group-favoring behaviors could be the need to maintain in-group positive distinctiveness, particularly in the presence of social identity threat.[65] Trust in out-group strangers increased when personal cues to identity[specify] were revealed[specify].[42]
Philosophy
Many philosophers have written about different forms of trust. Most agree that interpersonal trust is the foundation on which these forms can be modeled.[68] For an act to be an expression of trust, it must not betray the expectations of the trustee. Some philosophers, such as Lagerspetz, argue that trust is a kind of reliance, though not merely reliance.[69] Gambetta argued that trust is the inherent belief that others generally have good intentions, which is the foundation for our reliance on them.[70] Philosophers such as Annette Baier challenged this view, asserting a difference between trust and reliance by saying that trust can be betrayed, whereas reliance can only be disappointed.[71] Carolyn McLeod explains Baier’s argument with the following examples: we can rely on our clock to give the time, but we do not feel betrayed when it breaks, thus, we cannot say that we trusted it; we are not trusting when we are suspicious of another person, because this is in fact an expression of distrust.[clarification needed][68] The violation of trust warrants this sense of betrayal.[clarification needed][72] Thus, trust is different from reliance in the sense that a trustor accepts the risk of being betrayed.
Karen Jones proposed an emotional aspect to trust—optimism[73] that the trustee will do the right thing by the trustor, which is also described as “affective trust”.[74] People sometimes trust others even without this optimistic expectation, instead hoping that by extending trust this will prompt trustworthy behavior in the trustee. This is known as “therapeutic trust”[75] and gives both the trustee a reason to be trustworthy, and the trustor a reason to believe they are trustworthy.

TRUST from the Christian Point of View excerpts from various websites
Trusting God is one of those truths we think we understand until we are called upon to do it, and then we discover that there is more to it than we realized. Trusting God is an aspect of saving faith which has been said to have three elements to it: knowledge, assent, and trust (cf. John Gill, Body of Divinity, vol. 1 [Grand Rapids: Baker Book House, 1978], 411). All three aspects go together, but without trust, faith is inadequate and shockingly indistinguishable from the faith of demons who believe and shudder before God, yet do not repent and surrender themselves to him (Jas. 2:19 cf. Ps. 78:22). Trusting God is essential to Christian life. This, however, does not mean it is easy to trust God, especially in a world that questions the sanity of trusting him at almost every turn. Nevertheless, trust God we must, and the Bible has much to say that will help us no matter what our circumstances.
Proverbs 3:5-6 exhorts us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths.” In fact, the Christian life is one of trust in God from the beginning to the end. In its inception we repent and believe the gospel (Mark 1:15) and then all the way through we are called upon to believe God, and to believe in the Lord Jesus who is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:1, 6). As the writer to the Hebrews reminds us, “without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him (11:6).
This faith, of which trust is a central component, is what distinguishes those who are in Christ from those who are in Adam, the federal head of fallen humanity (cf. Rom. 5:12-6:14). It is something that is wrought in us by the grace and power of God, through his word and the ministry of the Holy Spirit, but it is also something that we must do as believers. It is part of our responsibility to “work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in us, both to will and to work for his good pleasure” (Phil. 2:12-13). In order to encourage us to trust God, and to grow in our relationship with him, the Bible has much to say about God’s perfections, promises, and actions, as well as providing us with examples of trusting God, and describing some ways this trust should manifest itself in our lives.
Everything about God is trustworthy because of who he is in the perfection of his being. The Bible elucidates this great truth in two ways: first, it warns about the folly of trusting in anyone or anything other than the Lord, and second, it describes for us his unique glory
So, for instance, we are warned about trusting in men: “Thus says the Lord: ‘Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord’” (Jer. 7:5). Proverbs 25:19 says: “Trusting in a treacherous man in time of trouble is like a bad tooth or a foot that slips.”
We are also warned about trusting in riches: “Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf” (Prov. 11:28 cf. Psa. 52:7; Jer. 48:7; 49:4). Likewise, we must not trust in false gods (Psa. 31:6; Isa. 42:17), lies (Jer. 13:25), beauty (Ezek. 16:15), our own way and military superiority (Hos. 10:13), and in our own minds (Prov. 28:26); all of which amount to trusting in ourselves (Luke 18:9). This is the prototypical human sin and is at the heart of all our sin and rebellion—we worship—trust in—ourselves rather than the Creator who is blessed forever! (Rom. 1:25). At its root, this is idolatry, although it is chameleon-like in appearance.
Rather than putting our trust in anything created, we are called to trust in the Lord our God, and for many good reasons. He is not a creature but the uncreated, eternal creator (Heb. 11:3). He is not bounded by time, and he will never cease to exist. Furthermore, he is not dependent on anyone or anything for his existence. He does not need anything because he is the source of life and breath and everything else (Ac.17:25). In theology this is referred to as the aseity of God.
The Bible also teaches that God is also all-present, all-knowing, all-powerful; no one can thwart his will, resist him, and come out unscathed (Job 9:12; Dan. 4:35). As the Psalmist says, “Our God is in the heavens, he does all that he pleases” (115:3), and the apostle Paul affirms that God, “works all things according to the counsel of his will” (Eph. 1:11). God’s sovereignty is absolute without in any way destroying or making irrelevant human freedom and responsibility. Nothing happens that he does not ordain. Nothing catches him by surprise. He knows the end from the beginning, and he will do all that he has purposed and bring his plan to completion. As the sovereign of the universe we can trust him no matter what happens. We are safe in his hands. As Proverbs 21:30 assures us, “No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can avail against the Lord.” SOURCE: Trusting God

God designed and created the family with the purpose of teaching us to TRUST. To trust each other and to TRUST GOD.

In today’s society, the idea of family has become increasingly distorted, with cultural narratives that often undermine the biblical foundation of a Christian (Godly) home. Through media, government policies, and societal norms, the true meaning of family is not only being redefined but attacked. This raises an essential question: What is God’s heart for the family, and how can Christians hold firm to His vision for it amidst such cultural confusion?
The Biblical Foundation of Family
From the very beginning, God established the family as the fundamental unit of society. In Genesis 12:3, God’s promise to Abraham extends to “all the families of the earth,” highlighting the importance of the family unit in His divine plan. Similarly, Genesis 28:14 reaffirms this, indicating that families are central to God’s blessing and purpose for humanity.

During creation, on day six he built his masterpiece: humans. Right from the start God determined that it was never good for a person to be alone, so God put forth his solution: ready-made community, for you and for me.
From that moment onward, whenever life felt hard or scary or frustrating, we’d have people to come home to, someone to lean on, shoulders on which to bury our tearstained faces. A friend.
Our family would be there for us, and we would be there for them. This would not be a come-and-go arrangement but rather a covenant commitment.
Our first community
We would stick together through every season, seeing, knowing, loving, serving. We would practice relating within the four walls of our home so that when we went out into the world, we would know how to love others well.
We would know how to ask good questions because we practiced good question-asking at home. We would know how to show empathy to hurting people because we practiced empathetic communication at home. We would know how to live unoffended because we practiced letting go of our hurts at home.
We would know how to extend earnest forgiveness because we practiced forgiving others at home. We would know how to work through differences and disagreements because we practiced effective conflict resolution at home.
Family was supposed to be our first community, a gathering of people who accepted and loved us and then taught us to accept and love others well. This was God’s original plan, both to bless people within families and then to bless through families the rest of the world.
Outright freedom in family
“God places the lonely in families,” the psalmist promised; “he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy” (Psalm 68:6 NLT). I’ve always loved that verse because of the comparison between family members and prisoners who have been freed. The picture of the family ought to be a picture of outright freedom, of chains being thrown off, of joy. Which is why historically it was not considered a big deal to set aside our own desires and care for those in our family.
I’m thinking here of exhortations such as the one in 1 Timothy, where the apostle Paul reminded his young protégé that family matters: “Those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers” (1 Tim. 5:8).
Pretty harsh language, right? So harsh that it nearly reads as hyperbole, as in, “Of course we care for the members of our family, Timothy. I mean, this is so obvious that I probably don’t even need to say it.”
The “relatives” part to those living in Paul’s day would include not only those in your immediate family, but also extended family members and even the stranger who was passing by and needed a place to stay, food to eat, or short-term care of some other kind.
Some historians suggest that this gathering of related people could have numbered up to one hundred, a far cry from the 2.63 people in the modern family of today. Your household included all those you were responsible for. Those you willingly cared for. Those with whom you’d rise or fall.
You’d share meals with these people.
You’d raise children with these people.
You’d labor with these people.
You’d entertain dreams with these people.
You’d swap stories with these people.
You’d work through disagreements with these people.
You’d celebrate wins with these people.
You’d grieve disappointments with these people.
You’d bury loved ones with these people.
You’d do all the stuff of life with these people. And you’d do this every day.

The Elite who run the world want you to be merged into their machine. They are looking for a posthuman world where there are NO HUMANS except them. They seen the masses as worthless eaters using up their resources. They have been talking for years about TRANSHUMANISM which with the development of AI became the Singularity… man and machine merged. They want YOU to TRUST THE “SCIENCE”. They are freaking out because people are losing faith and trust in their BS.

THE MACHINE KNOWN AS MODERN TECHNO-SOCIETY, was designed to isolate us and dehumanize us. It is very successful. We mostly live our lives in our own little world. Connected only through technology. In this way we have to become dependent on ourselves much more than was even intended. And the world has plenty of programs, projects, plans and disciplines to “HELP” you in your “search” for independence.

What is Self-Trust?
Self-trust is like your own internal compass. It’s that voice inside you that whispers, “Yes, girl, you got this,” even when the world is screaming, “Are you sure?”
It’s about relying on your own judgment, instincts, and wisdom to make decisions that serve you well. No more second-guessing or looking for external validation every two seconds.
When you trust yourself, you stand in your own truth, and let me tell you, that’s a vibe!
Self-Trust vs. Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem
Now, you might be thinking, “Ain’t self-trust just another word for self-confidence or self-esteem?” Nah, boo, they’re related but definitely not the same.
- Self-Confidence: This is about believing you can do something. Like, “I’m confident I can nail this job interview.” But here’s the kicker: you can be confident and still not trust yourself to make a good decision if you get the job offer.
- Self-Esteem: This is your overall sense of self-worth. It’s the love letter you write to yourself every day, consciously or not. But high self-esteem doesn’t automatically mean you trust yourself. You could think you’re the bee’s knees and still doubt your choices.
Importance of Self-Trust in Life
Girl, self-trust is not just a “nice-to-have.” It’s a “gotta-have” for so many aspects of your life:
- Relationships: When you trust yourself, you set better boundaries.
- Career: Trusting yourself can make you more decisive and focused.
- Mental Health: Let’s get real, mental health is wealth. Self-trust helps you navigate through life’s ups and downs with resilience. You learn to handle stress better because you trust yourself to find a way through.
It’s the glue that holds your life together in so many ways.
The Science Behind Self-Trust
Psychological Theories Related to Self-Trust
Erikson’s Stages of Psychosocial Development
First up, let’s chat about Erik Erikson, a psychologist who talked a lot about trust. According to Erikson’s stages of psychosocial development, the very first stage, called “Trust vs. Mistrust,” happens when we’re just babies.
Erikson said if a child gets consistent love and care, they develop a sense of trust that lasts a lifetime. This early sense of trust forms the foundation for self-trust later in life1.
Cognitive Behavioral Theory
Another theory to peep is Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT). In CBT, the focus is on how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected.
When you trust yourself, you’re likely to have more positive thoughts, which leads to positive actions. It’s like a feel-good cycle that keeps on giving2.

Neuroscience of Self-Trust
When you trust yourself, the prefrontal cortex—the decision-making part of your brain—is doing its thing.
It works in harmony with the limbic system, which handles emotions, to help you make balanced decisions3.
Plus, neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin get released, making you feel all sorts of good vibes.
Why Lack of Self-Trust is Harmful
Missed Opportunities
First things first, when you don’t trust yourself, you’re probably gonna let some golden opportunities slip right through your fingers.
Strained Relationships
When you lack self-trust, you’re likely to doubt not just yourself but also the people around you.
Impact on Mental Health
When you don’t trust yourself, you’re gonna feel anxious and stressed out pretty much all the time.
Steps to Build Self-Trust
Self-Awareness
The Role of Introspection and Self-Analysis
You can’t trust what you don’t know, right? So, step one is getting to know yourself better through introspection and self-analysis. It’s like taking yourself out on a date and asking all the deep questions.
Tools: Journaling or Meditation
- Journaling: Put pen to paper and jot down your thoughts, fears, and dreams. It’s like having a one-on-one convo with yourself.
- Meditation: Take some time to just be with your thoughts. It’s like a mini-vacay for your mind!
Consistency
The Importance of Keeping Promises to Yourself
Listen, if you say you’re gonna do something, do it. Trust is built on reliability, even when it’s trust in yourself.
Seek Feedback and Reflect
Importance of External Perspectives
Sometimes, you gotta step outside your own head and get a different perspective. It’s not about seeking validation; it’s about getting a more rounded view of yourself.
Set Boundaries
Why Setting Limits is Crucial
Boundaries are the invisible lines that help you protect your energy and time. When you have clear boundaries, you’re basically telling yourself, “I trust you to know what’s best for me.”
Tips on Setting and Maintaining Boundaries
- Be clear about your limits.
- Communicate them effectively.
- Don’t feel guilty about enforcing them.
How to Maintain Self-Trust
Importance of Regular Check-Ins
Take time to assess how you’re feeling, what you’ve accomplished, and where you could improve.
How to Do It
Set aside a few minutes every week—or even every day if you can—to sit quietly and reflect. Ask yourself questions like, “Did I keep the promises I made to myself this week?” or “How did I handle stress today?”
The Role of Self-Compassion
Why Self-Compassion is a Must
Look, you’re human, and you’re gonna slip up sometimes. The key is not to beat yourself up. Self-compassion is about treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding you’d give to a good friend.
How to Practice Self-Compassion
- Talk to Yourself Nicely: No name-calling or self-dragging allowed.
- Forgive and Move On: Made a mistake? Acknowledge it, learn from it, and keep it pushing.
- Celebrate Wins: Big or small, give yourself a pat on the back for the good stuff.
Maintaining self-trust is an ongoing process, but it’s so worth it. With regular check-ins and a whole lot of self-compassion, you can keep that trust meter on the up and up!
Why Self-Trust is Crucial
The importance of self-trust can’t be overstated. It’s like the secret ingredient in the recipe for a fulfilling life. When you trust yourself, you’re more confident in your decisions, you set healthier boundaries, and you live a life that’s authentically you.

The problem is you were not built to be isolated and independent. You were built for community, fellowship, family, and GOD. I don’t care how intelligent or learned you might be…you are not equipped to carry the weight of determining what is right and wrong, or to set boundaries that serve you and your purpose,or discern the character and spirit of the people and spiritual forces around you. NOT ON YOUR OWN!
HUMANS are not and NEVER CAN BE GOD!! We are created beings. Limited. God is infinite. HE KNOWS ALL, SEES ALL, and HE created ALL. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD. Humans are frail, weak, fallible, and mortal. GOD has no beginning and NO END.
People are afraid to TRUST GOD, because they fear what they might be losing. They are afraid to surrender their own will and allow God’s will to be done in their life. What they do not understand is the GOD’s love for them is wonderful beyond our comprehension.
1 Corinthians 2:9
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
He KNOWS us better than we know ourselves, because HE created us. He knows the deepest desires of our hearts. Not only that, he knows where they originate. He created each individual with their out personality and character. He knows what moves us, what drives us, what fulfills us. He knows what is best for us, who is best for us, and who and what we need to avoid. How many times in your life have you thought you knew what you wanted or needed and found it led you to nothing good/ Or how many times have you been faced with making a decision and not having a clue which way to go?
Psalm 37:4
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
